education in Indonesia followed different type of curriculum for the last three decades. Those curriculums split science learning into different subject namely mathematics physics chemistry and biology and mostly the teacher becomes the center of learning process. One of the problems on the old curriculum was sometimes the students study these subjects without being able to understand the usage of the koowledge they acquired in their daily life or future and teachers or parents also had not been able to simplify subject matters at home or at school. Since 2013 Indonesia government revealed new cuniculum with integrative thematic concept applied to elementary secondary high school and vocational school. Actually theme based cuniculum was applied only in kindergarten and lower class Primary Schools. This approach has been widely used in almost all kindergarten in accordance to how young children see observe and understand the world. However nowadays the new concept is applied for all level of education including university. Especially in high school thematic leaming can be implemented using integrated science IS which address the student to an enjoyable journey through high school science games interesting science questions and motivating science writing. The system allows students to investigate science issues in the context of the world around them. Since it incorporates aspects of biology chemistry physics and mathematics IS encourages students to be questioning reflective and critical thinkers about scientific issues. This review explain practical implementation of IS in high school level moreover some example of easy and interesting learning study of IS will be discussed.
