CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF NIBPY3 MNMNOX3 THREE DIMENSIONAL COORDINATION POLYMER

ABSTRAK

In the field of molecular magnetism based on the metal ligand coordination isteractions a large number of coordination polymer have been designed and prepared to develop novel functional materials. Coordination polymer can be formed by oxalate ligand. The oxalate group functions as a bridging ligand to connected metal ions. In the title compound Nibpy3MnMnox3 with bpy 22-bipyridin and ox oxalate has a polymeric structure with the bridging oxalate connecting the MnII ion. Each ion has a distorted octahedral environment being coordinated by three oxalate ligaads Mn1-O1 2.163614 and Mn1-O2 2.153516 A. In the crystal structure the polymeric chains propagating two directions and form a two dimensional chains while molecules complex Nibpy32 is situated on cavity from oxalate network leading to the formation of three-dimensional architecture.
