STUDI KARAKTERISTIK GETARAN PADA SISTEM SUSPENSI PEGAS DAUN DAN PEGAS SPIRAL AKIBAT PENGARUH KONDISI PERMUKAAN JALAN DAN KECEPATAN YANG BERVARIASI

ABSTRAK

Experimental study on the characteristics of vehicle suspension due to harmonic excitation of road profile with various amplitudes and frequencies was reported in this article. Two type of suspensions i.e. leaf spring and spiral spring type suspension were used in this research. The vehicle with leaf spring and spiral spring type suspension were tested in various road profileroughness and speed. The vehicle was tested at speed rated 5 to 40kmh. A displacement transducerLVDT and vibration analyzerCSI were used to record the amplitude and frequency of the suspension. The results show that road profile and vehicle speed influence the amplitude of vehicle suspension. And the frequency of vehicle suspesion was mainly influenced by road profile. The results also verified that spiral spring type suspension has higher capability to damped out the vibration as compared to leaf spring type suspension. The results will be used to design a vibration energy harvester
