ABSTRAK

Kebutuhan transportasi darat yang layak terutama jalan raya sangat dibutuhkan di pulau-pulau besar seperti Kalimantan Sumatera dan Papua dengan kondisi geografis permukaan tanahnya sebagian besar berupa tanah gambut. Sifat teknis tanah gambut yang paling menonjol adalah daya dukungnya yang rendah dan pemampatannya yang tinggi sehingga sangat sensitif terhadap beban yang bekerja diatasnya. Upaya peningkatan daya dukung tanah gambut untuk menghindari kerusakan konstruksi diatas tanah gambut berupa stabilisasi tanah dengan penambahan bahan kapur fly ash dan air pada tanah gambut sehingga terjadi pertumbuhan kristal pada tanah gambut. Pada penelitian ini prilaku massa jenis gambut laju pertumbuhan kristal porositas gambut dan kecepatan fluida saat terjadi pertumbuhan kristal dimodelkan dengan prinsip kontinum dan volume kendali. Selanjutnya model tersebut diselesaikan secara numerik dengan metode beda hingga skema MacCormack yang terdiri dari dua tahap yaitu prediktor dan korektor. Hasil Simulasi menunjukkan bahwa massa padatan gambut menjadi semakin besar setelah mengalami kristalisasi hingga mencapai suatu kondisi yang seimbang. Kemudian laju pertumbuhan kristal berangsur turun hingga mendekati nilai nol. Nilai porositas gambut menjadi semakin kecil kemudian mengalami kondisi stabil pada nilai tertentu. Pada tanah berpori seperti gambut nilai porositas yang semakin kecil memberikan pengaruh terhadap prilaku nilai kecepatan aliran fluida yang semakin kecil pula.


ABSTRACT

A good land transportation in highway especially is needed in the larger islands such as Kalimantan Sumatra and Papua with the geographical conditions of its surface mostly peat. Technical nature of the peat soil of the most prominent are low carrying capacity and high compressibility so it is very sensitive to the load acting on it. The efforts to improve the bearing capacity of peat to avoid damage in the form of construction on peat soil stabilization by the addition of lime fly ash and water in the peat soil so resulting crystal growth on peat. In this study the behaviour of the peat density the rate of the crystal growth peat porosity and fluid velocity during the crystal growth is modeled by continum principles and control volume. Furthermore the models are solved numerically by Finite Difference Method MacCormack Scheme which consist of two steps. There are predictor and corrector steps. The simulations results that the value of peat mass become larger after crystallization to achieve a balanced condition. Then the rate of crystal growt gradually decreased nearly to zero. The peat porosity values become smaller untill in stable condition value. In porous soil like peat the smaller value of porosity which influence the behaviour of the rate flow velocity value into smaller value.
