ABSTRAK

Optimasi produksi biodesel melalui reaksi transesterifikasi minyak kemiri Sunan Reutealistrisperma Oil menggunakan katalis oksida campuran CaO-ZnO telah diteliti. Parameter yang dipelajari dalam reaksi transesterifikasi minyak kemiri Sunan Reutealis trisperma Oil antara lain rasio mol CaZn katalis rasio metanolminyak dan waktu reaksi. Pengaruh rasio mol katalis dipelajari dengan melakukan variasi rasio atom CaZn pada sintesis katalis dengan rasio atom 025 05 dan 1. Parameter rasio molar metanolminyak diinvestigasi dengan variasi metanolminyak 101 201 dan 301. Sedangkan waktu reaksi adalah30 60 dan 120 menit .Reaksi transesterifikasi dilakukan pada suhu60C dengan jumlah katalis 3 berat minyak. Yield metil ester yang diperoleh ditentukan menggunakan Gas Chromatography GC dan dianalisis lebih lanjut dengan desain eksperimen Taguchi berdasarkan rasio SN. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rasio CaZn dan waktu reaksi memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap produksi biodiesel. Kondisi optimum untuk masing-masing parameter adalah rasio mol CaZn 1 rasio molar metanolminyak 30 dan waktu reaksi selama 2 jam.


ABSTRACT

Optimization of biodiesel production from Reautealis trisperma oil using mixed oxides catalyst CaO-ZnO has been studied. Parameters investigated in the transesterification of Reautealistrisperma oil include atomic ratio of catalyst methanoloil molar ratio and reaction time. The influence of catalyst atomic ratio has been investigated by the use of catalyst with CaZn atomic ratio of 0.25 0.25 and 1. Parameter of molar ratio methanoloil has been investigated by varying the methanoloil molar ratio 101 201 and 301 while the reaction time were 30 60 and 120 minutes. The transesterification reactions were carried out at 60C with 3 weight catalyst. The methyl ester contained in the reaction mixture was determined by Gas Chromatography GC and then being analyzed by Taguchi design of experiment based on SN ratio value. The results showed that mol ratio CaZn and reaction time gave the significant effect on the biodiesel production . Optimum condition for each parameters are mol ratio CaZn 1 molar ratio methanoloil 30 and the reaction time should be 2 hour.
