ABSTRAK

Nata de chayote NDCh dan nata de bamboo NDB telah dibuat dari hasil fermentasi rebung bambu dan manisa dengan memanfaatkan aktivitas bakteri Acetobacter xylinum. NDCh dan NDB ini selanjutnya dipress menjadi membran. Massa rebung dan manisa yang digunakan sebagai substrat pembuatan NDB dan NDCh divariasi untuk memperoleh sifat mekanik yang maksimum. Sifat mekanik membran ditentukan dengan uji kuat tarik tensile strength kuat ulur strain dan kapasitas penyimpanan air KPA. Dari hasil uji mekanik diperoleh massa substrat optimum masing-masing sebesar 225 gr untuk rebung bambu dan 300 gr untuk manisa. Hasil uji mekanik membran NDCh dan NDB secara berturut-turut yaitu kuat tarik sebesar 7464 MPa dan 5728 MPa kuat ulur sebesar 6052 dan 8370 serta KPA sebesar 836226 dan 591857. Perbedaan sifat mekanik antara membran NDCh dan membran NDB dapat digunakan untuk aplikasi yang berbeda. Dalam penelitian ini NDB dan NDCh juga diimpregnasi dengan nanopartikel emas dengan dua variasi waktu yaitu ketika dan sesudah fermentasi. Penambahan volume larutan nanopartikel emas bervariasi hingga diperoleh konduktivitas optimum. Konduktivitas tertinggi diperoleh dari membran NDB dan NDCh terimpregnasi nanopartikel emas setelah proses fermentasi yaitu sebesar 57333 dan 73616 956Scm.


ABSTRACT

Nata de chayote NDCh and nata de bamboo NDB have been obtained by the fermentation process of bamboo shoot and chayote using Acetobacter xylinum. Then the NDCh and NDB were pressed to be thin membranes. Mass of bamboo shoot and chayote which were used as a substrat for NDB and NDCh have been variated to obtain maximum mechanical properties. Their mechanical properties were measured by tensile strength strain and water absorption capacity. From mechanical test have been obtained optimum mass of bamboo shoot was 225 gr and chayote was 300 gr. The result of mechanical properties of NDB and NDCh membranes were tensile strength 5728 and 7464 MPa strain 8370 and 6052 KPA 591857 and 836226 respectively. Moreover NDCh and NDB had been impregnated by gold nano particles by 2 time variation before and after fermentation process. Gold nanoparticles were added with volume variation until the optimum conductivity was reached. The highest conductivity were obtained from NDB and NDCh membranes impregnated by gold nanoparticles after the fermentation process that is equal to 57333 and 73616 956Scm respectively
