ABSTRAK

Aliran yang melintasi suatu bluff body dalam hal ini silinder menimbulkan gaya drag yang sejajar arah aliran dan gaya lift yang tegak lurus arah aliran. Beberapa penelitian dilakukan untuk mereduksi gaya drag dengan cara memberi pengganggu di daerah upstream mengiris geometri body dan meningkatkan kekasaran permukaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh silinder pengganggu terhadap karakteristik aliran melintasi dua silinder tersusun secara tandem pada saluran sempit. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen dan numerik. Benda uji yang digunakan berupa dua silinder sirkular berdiameter D 25 mm yang disusun secara tandem. Variasi jarak antar silinder LD 15 2 25 3 35 4. Pada sisi upstream ditempatkan silinder pengganggu berdiameter d 4 mm dengan gap 948 04 mm dari permukaan silinder upstream dan variasi sudut 945 300 dan 600. Bilangan Reynolds ReDh yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data pressure drop 521x104 sampai 156x105 sedangkan untuk pengambilan data koefisien tekanan velocity profile perhitungan koefisien drag secara eksperimen dan simulasi numerik digunakan ReDh 156x105. Untuk penelitian eksperimen susunan benda uji diuji pada wind tunnel dengan dimensi 125 mm x 125 mm x 2000 mm. Sedangkan penelitian secara pemodelan numerik 2D Unsteady-RANS menggunakan perangkat lunak CFD dengan domain 125 mm x 1450 mm. Model turbulensi yang digunakan k-969 SST. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan reduksi pressure drop dan koefisien drag total terjadi pada konfigurasi tandem dengan IDB 300 sebesar 23 dari nilai konfigurasi tandem tanpa IDB. Reduksi koefisien pressure drag maksimum untuk silinder upstream terjadi pada konfigurasi tandem dengan IDB 300 sebesar 53 sedangkan untuk silinder downstream reduksi koefisien pressure drag maksimum sebesar 90 terjadi pada konfigurasi tandem dengan IDB 600.


ABSTRACT

The forces acting on cylinder are drag force and lift force. Some experiment was varying the geometry of cylinder and adding disturbance body to reduce the drag force. The objective of this study is to discover the influence of inlet disturbance body on the flow characteristics passing through two circular cylinder with tandem arrangement. The research was carried out by experimental and numeric. The diameter of cicular cylinder D was 25mm and distance ratio LD varied from 15 2 25 3 35 4. The diameter of inlet disturbance body d was 4 mm and the gap 948 was 04 mm from upstream cylinder. The angle of IDB 945 varied 300 and 600. The experimental research was conducted in wind tunnel with 125 mm x 125 mm x 2000 mm dimension and used Reynolds numder ReDh 521x104 - 156x105 for pressure drop. ReDh 156x105 was used for pressure coefficient velocity profile and 2D Unsteady-RANS numeric simulation. Numeric simulation used k-969 SST turbulence model. The reduction of pressure drop and total drag coefficient occurs at tandem arrangement with IDB 300 which has value 23 lower than tandem arrangement without IDB. Pressure drag coefficient of upstream cylinder at tandem arrangement with IDB 300 was reduced by 53. Pressure drag coefficient of downstream cylinder at tandem arrangement with IDB 600 was reduced by 90..
