IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IN WIRELESS OPEN ACCESS RESEARCH PLATFORM WARP

ABSTRAK

Adanya multipath fading menyebabkan kinerja dari sistem komunikasi nirkabel menurun. Untuk mengatasi multipath fading digunakan teknik diversity salah satunya adalah multiple antena MIMO. Beberapa perangkat nirkabel memiliki keterbatasan ukuran biaya dan kompleksitas perangkat keras sehingga kita tidak dapat mengimplementasikan multiple antena . Maka dikembangkan teknik baru untuk mengatasi keterbatasan tersebut yaitu menggunakan sistem komunikasi kooperatif. Meskipun sistem komunikasi kooperatif telah banyak dipelajari namun masih sedikit penelitian yang mengimplementasikan sistem tersebut. Oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi dan implementasi sistem komunikasi kooperatif pada modul Wireless Open Access Research Platform WARP dengan menggunakan relay Demodulate and Forward dan teknik Maximum Ratio Combining MRC dan Selection Combining SC. Pada penelitian ini akan dibandingkan kinerja dari sistem komunikasi kooperatif dengan sistem komunikasi yang lebih sederhana yaitu SISO dan multihop dengan melihat nilai BER fungsi daya pancar dan fungsi jarak. Pada saat pengukuran BER fungsi daya pancar jarak antara source dan destination dibuat tetap yaitu 6 meter dengan letak relay tepat berada di tengah. Sedangkan daya pancar diubah-ubah mulai dari -39.67 dBm hingga -11.47 dBm. Untuk BER fungsi nilai daya pancar dibuat tetap yaitu -39.67 dBm dan jarak antara source dan destination diubah-ubah mulai dari 1 meter hingga 6 meter. Hasilnya Sistem komunikasi kooperatif MRC pada modul WARP lebih baik dari sistem komunikasi SISO multihop dan sistem komunikasi kooperatif dengan SC . Semakin besar nilai daya pancar maka nilai BER semakin kecil sedangkan semakin jauh jarak antara source dan destination maka semakin besar nilai BER-nya.


ABSTRACT

Multipath fading causes the performance of wireless communication systems decreases . Diversity techniques are used to overcome multipath fading such as multiple antenna MIMO. Some wireless devices have limited size cost and complexity of hardware so we can not implement multiple antennas . Thus new techniques is develop to overcome these limitations It is cooperative communications system . Cooperative communication systems are only a few number of the implementation. Therefore in this research writter implement cooperative communication system on module Wireless Open Access Research Platform WARP using relays demodulate and Forward with Maximum Ratio Combining MRC and Selection Combining SC . This research will compare the performance of cooperative communication system with a communication system that is simpler. They are SISO and multihop systems. One of performance communication system parameter is Bit Error Rate BER. This BER seen as a function of transmit power and distance. At the BER measurement function of the transmit power the distance between the source and the destination was made fixed at 6 meters. While the transmit power be changed from -39.67 dBm to -11.47 dBm . For BER function of distance the fix transmit power is -39.67 dBm and the distance between the source and destination be changed ranging from 1 meter to 6 meters . The result cooperative communication system MRC on the module WARP better than SISO communication system multihop and cooperative communication systems with SC . The greater the value of the transmit power the smaller the BER and the greater the distance between the source and the destination the greater the value of BER .
