STUDI PROSES PEMISAHAN BITUMEN DARI ASBUTON DENGAN MEDIA AIR PANAS DAN PENAMBAHAN SOLAR SERTA SURFAKTAN

STUDY OF BITUMEN SEPARATION PROCESS FROM ASBUTON USING HOT WATER MEDIA WITH DIESEL OIL AND SURFACTANT ADDITION

ABSTRAK

Asbuton adalah aspal alam dari pulau Buton yang terkandung dalam deposit batuan dengan kadar bitumen 1040.Pemanfaatan asbuton untuk bahan alternatif pembangunan konstruksi jalan dapat dilakukan setelah proses pemisahan antara bitumen dengan mineralnya. Proses pemisahan bisa dilakukan dengan menggunakan pelarut organic atau air panas hot water process. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pemisahan dengan media air panas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh penambahan solar sebagai penetrating agent surfaktan sebagai wetting agent ukuran partikel waktu dan kecepatan putar pengaduk terhadap persen recovery bitumen. Proses ini dilakukan dalam tangki berpengaduk menimbang asbuton sebanyak 200 gram dan solar dengan perbandingan tertentu dan kemudian menambahkan larutan surfaktan yang telah dipanaskan hingga 90OC di dalam tangki ekstraksi. Mengukur suhu air yang telah dipanaskan dalam waterbath hingga 95OC. Proses pemisahan di dalam tangki ekstraksi diatur pada suhu 90C kemudian mengatur kecepatan putar pengaduk dan waktu pemisahan sesuai dengan variabel. Setelah selesai proses pemisahan kemudian memindahkan campuran kedalam beaker glass dan menambahkan air panas sebanyak 500 ml. Memisahkan campuran aspal dan solar yang mengapung pada bagian atas dan melakukan pengukuran densitas untuk menentukan konsentrasi bitumen. Data yang dihasilkan dari eksperimen dianalisa menggunakan software desain expert 6. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa penambahan solar larutan surfaktan dan waktu pemisahan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan persen recovery meningkat dengan memperbesar penambahan solar ukuran partikel semakin kecil memperbesar konsentrasi surfaktan memperbesar penambahan larutan surfaktan memperlambat waktu dan meningkatkan kecepatan putar pengaduk. Nilai error rata-rata recovery model dan hasil eksperimen yaitu 986 .


ABSTRACT

Asbuton is a rock from Buton island that contain bitumen about 1040. Bitumen in asbuton can be an alternative material to construct road after being extracted from the mineral. Separation of the bitumen could be done by extraction using organic solvent or hot water. The aim of this research was to study the effect of the diesel oil as a penetrating agent surfactant as a wetting agent particle size time and speed of stirrer on the bitumen recovery The process was carried out in a stirred tank. 200 grams of asbuton was mixed with . penetrating agent in various ratio then add hot wetting agent solution 90oC in the extractor. Then water bath with temperatur 95OC was prepaired to maintain temperature of liquid in the extractor to be 90OC. The Separation process in the extractor was set at 90O From the ANOVA data it could be concluded that C then set the speed of stirrer and time of extraction according to the variable. After the process was completed the mixture was moved into a beaker glass and add 500 ml hot water. The mixture of diesel oil and bitumen will float in the surface then the density will be measured to determine the bitumen concentration. The data obtained from these research was analyzed using design expert 6 software. the most significant variables are diesel oil surfactant solution and time. The experimental data gave results that the percent recovery increase with increasing amount of diesel oil decreasing particle size increasing concentration and amount of surfactant increasing speed of stirrer and extraction time. The average value of the error recovery model and experimental results is 986.
