ABSTRAK

Cross-docking adalah suatu metoda yang memberikan kesempatan bagi perusahaan untuk meningkatkan tingkat pelayanan mereka terhadap pelanggan tanpa investasi keuangan secara besar-besaran atau perubahan secara drastis dalam infrastruktur usaha bersangkutan. Salah satu pemanfaatan cross-docking yang paling populer adalah aplikasi sistem tersebut dalam perusahaan produk perishable produk tidak tahan lama. Cross-docking menjadi sangat signifikan dalam membantu tipe perusahaan tersebut karena menjaga kualitas produk dan ketepatan waktu dalam pengiriman merupakan dua komponen penting dalam perusahaan terkait. Dalam mencapai kesuksesan dalam aplikasi cross-docking ini sangat penting bagi perusahaan untuk menginvestasikan waktu dan dan usaha terutama dalam membangun pengembangan proses. Tujuan dari riset ini adalah melakukan minimisasi terhadap total biaya transportasi tanpa melanggar konstrain kapasitas kendaraan. Dalam riset ini kami mengembangkan model matematis dan mengembangkan algoritma discrete particle swarm optimization. Hasil komputasi mengindikasikan bahwa metode solusi yang dikembangkan dapat menyelesaikan masalah secara efektif.


ABSTRACT

Cross-docking is a method that gives companies opportunities to improve their service level to their customers without high monetary investment or major changes in the infrastructure. One of the popular employments of cross-docking is in perishable product companies because maintaining product quality and on time delivery is highly important for these companies. In order to successfully employ this method it is critical for the companies to invest time and effort in process improvement. The objective is to minimize the total transportation cost without violating vehicle capacity constraints. We propose a mathematical model and develop a discrete particle swarm optimization algorithm for the problem. Computational results indicate that the proposed solution method can effectively solve the problem.
