ABSTRAK

Sebagian besar UMKM di Indonesia menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas rendah karena kurangnya kemampuan inovasi. Tampaknya lemahnya kemampuan inovasi pada UMKM salah satunya dapat disebabkan oleh lemahnya peran perantara intermediary dari pemerintah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan inovasi produk pada UMKM dalam rangka untuk meningkatkan daya saing mereka. Menurut Lee et al 2010 peran perantara intermediary dalam industri skala kecil dan menengah ditemukan memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kapasitas inovasi di negara-negara maju namun di Indonesia penelitian dan survei belum dilakukan secara serius namun apakah peran ini memiliki dampak yang sama seperti dibandingkan dengan industri skala kecil dan menengah di negara maju. Penelitian ini mengusulkan untuk mempelajari dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor apa yang mempengaruhi kemampuan inovasi produk dan mengukur seberapa besar peran penting perantara intermediary dalam meningkatkan kemampuan inovasi pada UMKM khususnya industri kerajinan tradisional di Indonesia. Untuk melakukannya Struktural Equation Modeling SEM adalah suatu bentuk pendekatan yang dipilih sebagai model konfirmasi yang mampu menguji faktor-faktor kualitatif dan kuantitatif dari pengaruh dan signifikansi hubungan antara variabel laten dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan inovasi produk penelitian ini diusulkan untuk dapat diimplementasikan. Berdasarkan t-value hasil penelitian diperoleh faktor-faktor yang signifikan mempengaruhi kemampuan inovasi produk KIP yaitu peran intermediary PI sebesar 223 dan orientasi pasar OPS sebesar 302 sedangkan faktor-faktor yang pengaruhnya tidak signifikan yaitu orientasi pembelajaran OP sebesar 045 kemampuan pimpinan KP sebesar 048 dan teknologi informasi pemasaran TIP sebesar -026. Adapun peran intermediary PI memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan terhadap Orientasi Pembelajaran 1336 Kemampuan Pimpinan 937 Teknologi Informasi Pemasaran 1024 dan Orientasi Pasar 1285.


ABSTRACT

Mostly Indonesian MSMEs produces a low quality of products due to less innovative capabilities. It seems that this weakness of capability is caused to less intermediary role from government to SME i.e. to increase innovation capabilities of MSMEs in order to raise their competitiveness. According to Lee et al 2010 intermediary role in small and medium scale industry found in developed countries has an important role in increasing innovation capacity however in Indonesia a research and survey has not been conducted yet whether this role has a same impacts as compared to small scale industry in developed country. This research proposes to study and identify whats an influence factors that affects an innovation product cq. technology innovation and to measure the important role of intermediary for increasing innovation capability in SME especially in a traditional crafts industry in Indonesia. To do so Structural Equation Modeling SEM approach as a confirmatory model which is able to test qualitative and quantitative factor of the influence and significance of relations between latent variables and influenced factors of capability of product innovation is proposed to implemented. T-value is based on research results obtained by factors that significantly affect the product innovation capabilities is the role of intermediary of 2.23 and market orientation of 3.02 while the effect is not significant ie learning orientation of 0.45 the leader capabilities of 0.48 and marketing information technology of -0.26. The role of intermediary has a very significant influence on the learning orientation 13.36 the capabilities of leader 9.37 marketing information technology 10.24 and market orientation 12.85.
