THE STUDY OF COASTAL MORPHOLOGY BY USING THE SINGLE LINE THEORY A CASE STUDY OF EAST COAST OF SIDOARJO

ABSTRAK

Angkutan sedimen yang terjadi di sepanjang pantai longshore sedimen transport diakibatkan oleh gerakan tekanan arus dan gelombang angin. Proses sedimentasi yang terjadi terus menerus akan menyebabkan perubahan garis pantai sehingga berakibat terjadinya morfologi pantai. Bergesernya lokasi muara-muara sungai sepanjang Pantai Timur Sidoarjo diduga disebabkan oleh proses angkutan sedimen di sekitar pantai yang bergerak antara muara Kali Buntung sampai Kali Paketingan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui proses dan besarnya sedimentasi perubahan garis pantai serta morfologi pantai dilokasi tersebut. Pendekatan penelitian dilakukan dengan perhitungan gerakan sedimen serta menganalisa perubahan garis pantai dengan menggunakan Teori Garis Tunggal Single Line Theory. Analisa yang dilakukan meliputi data gelombang angin muka air pasang surut peta citra satelit dan data hasil pengukuran di lapangan. Selanjutnya hasil analisa dipakai dalam perhitungan angkutan sedimen pantai dengan pendekatan Formula CERC dan Model Matematika GENESIS. Dari analisa dan hasil perhitungan dilakukan pembahasan perubahan garis pantai. Kesimpulan akhir penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sepanjang Pantai Timur Sidoarjo sejak tahun 1945 sd 1997 telah terjadi proses angkutan sedimen secara terus menerus yang menimbulkan penambahan daratan kearah laut sebesar 144.615 m2th dan mengakibatkan lokasi muara-muara sungai bergeser dari lokasi muara semula. Perubahan garis pantai hasil pemodelan GENESIS tahun 1997 sd 2000 memberikan informasi bahwa desa-desa di lokasi penelitian mengalami morfologi pantai yang berupa penambahan maupun pengurangan luas daratan. Pada bagian pantai di sekitar muara-muara sungai pengaruh sedimen yang berasal dari sungainya sendiri relatip besar. Untuk prediksi sampai tahun 2010 diperoleh hasil pengamatan bahwa di lokasi penelitian secara komulatif masih akan terjadi penambahan daratan pada setiap tahun namun dengan angka luas penambahan yang makin mengecil. Informasi tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam kebijaksanaan Pembangunan di Kabupaten Sidoarjo.


ABSTRACT

Longshore sediment transport is caused by currents and waves. Continuous sediment process would bring about the changing of shoreline which would lead to the formation of coastal morphology. The moving of the estuaries position in East Coast of Sidoarjo is predictably caused by longshore sediment transport which runs from the Buntung estuary to the Paketingan estuary. This research is intended to learn process and the quantity of sedimentation change in shoreline and coastal morphology in research location. The approach of this research will be done by using sediment transport calculation and the analysis of shoreline change by using Single Line Theory. The analysis includes the data of waves surface of tydal range mapsCitra Satellite and the result of measurement at the field. The result of this analysis would be used in sediment transport calculations by using the CERC Formula approach and GENESIS Mathematic Model. The analysis and the result of calculations would be used for discussing shoreline change. The conclusion of this research shows that there has been cumulative expansion of the land to the sea at 144.615 m2year which is caused by continuous longshore sediment transport process from 1945 to 1997 located in East coast of Sidoarjo. Consquently the estuaries position has moved from the previous position. The shoreline change modeled by GENESIS in 1997 to 2000 has gived the information that the nearby villages of the research location would overcome coastal morphology in the form of either the expansion or the reduction of the land. The sediment transport from the rivers itself dominate in the estuaries. By 2010 it is predicted that East Coast of Sidoarjo would overcome an increasingly cumulative expansion of the land to the sea every year however the number of the expansion itself will be decreasing. The result of this study can be used by the Government of Sidoarjo as consideration in constructing the development policy in Sidoarjo.
