Experimental Study Performance of Rodbaffle Heat Exchanges as Geometry Function Rodbaffle Heat Capacity Ratio and Number Transfer Unit

ABSTRAK

Penukar panas Rodbaffle terdiri dari shell dan tube dimana tube tersebut ditumpu oleh pasangan rod-rod sebagai baffle yang disusun melintang dengan arah vertikal dan horisontal di setiap barisan tube. Model ini akan menghasilkan pressure drop yang lebih kecil arah aliran yang lebih sejajar dengan tube serta pembersihannya mudah. Dalam penelitian ini dikaji secara eksperimental pengaruh ukuran diameter rod Dr diameter tube Dt jarak antara rod Lb kapasitas panas serta bilangan satuan pemindahan terhadap unjuk kerja penukar panas Rodbaffle dari model penukar panas Rodbaffle dengan jumlah baffle 3 4 dan 5 sehingga akan diketahui gambaran hubungan antara bilangan satuan pemindahan NTU dengan effectiveness e serta penurunan tekanan aliran fluida AP terhadap kapasitas fluidaQ. Hasilnya pada penukar panas dengan baffle 5 harga effectiveness pada NTU 0.75 mencapai maksimum sedang pada baffle 4 dan 3 berturut - turut menurun. Yaitu 0.58 0.56 dan 0.54. demikian juga dengan pressure drop pada sisi shell DPH pada kedudukan bilangan Reynolds tertentu nilai pada baffle 34 dan 5 menunjukkan kenaikan harga DPH karena perbedaan jumlah baffle.


ABSTRACT

Heat exchanger Rodbaffle as shell and tube when the tube is based by rod-rod couple as baffle and passed vertical and horizontal in every tube row. This model is to be result more less pressure drop the flows more parallel by tube and easy clean. In this research is study by experimental influence rod diameter Dr tube diameter Dt length between rod Lb heat capacity and number transfer unit by performance Rodbaffle heat transfer from three model with 34 and 5 baffle so on we get relation between Number Transfer Unit NTU and effectiveness e and pressure drop of the fluid flow AP to fluids Capacity Q. The result heat exchanges the effectiveness in baffle 5 at NTU 0.75 will be maximum but in baffle 4 and baffle 3 will be reducing 0.58 0.56 and 0.54. And also pressure drop in shell side DPH at Reynold number for baffle 34 and 5 show the raised DPH value because the different baffle number.
