ABSTRAK

Dengan meningkatnya perkembangan jumlah pengguna internet dan mulai diadopsinya penggunaan internet dalam kehidupan sehari-hari maka lalulintas data di Internet telah meningkat secara signifikan. Sejalan dengan itu pula beban kerja server-server yang memberikan service di Internet juga mengalami kenaikan yang cukup signifikan. Hal tersebut dapat mengakibatkan suatu server mengalami kelebihan beban pada suatu saat. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka diterapkan skema konfigurasi server cluster menggunakan konsep load balancing. Load balancing server menerapkan algoritma dalam melakukan pembagian tugas. Algoritma round robin telah digunakan pada Linux Virtual Server yang berjalan padaIPv4. Penelitian mengimplementasikan algoritma round robin adaptif yang berjalan pada IPv6. Algoritma ini menghitung beban server dan melakukan perubahan weight pada LVS load balancer yang sedang berjalan. Dari hasil percobaan didapatkan bahwa penggunaan IPv6 untuk load balancing bisa meningkatkan jumlah request yang bisa ditangani perdetik menurunkan waktu proses per request dan memperbesar throughput. Di sisi server penggunaan IPv6 bisa menurunkan CPU time. Penggunaan algoritma round robin adaptif belum bisa meningkatkan performa throughput akan tetapi telah berhasil meningkatkan jumlah request yang bisa ditangani per detik dan menurunkan waktu proses per request


ABSTRACT

With the explosive growth of the Internet the potential number of clients that a server must support has dramatically increased some hot sites have already received hundreds of thousands of simultaneous client connections. Server will get overload sometimes. One of the solutions is using server cluster of LVS to reduce the load and balance the load at each server one of the scheduling algorithm used by LVS running on IPv4 platform is round-robin algorithm. This research discuss about the implementation of adaptive algorithm used with round robin algorithm running on IPv6. This adaptive algorithm calculates the weight and server load and implements it to the currently running round robin scheduler of LVS. The result of this research is still shows leak of performance in throughput in using adaptive round-robin instead of using regular LVS. But this adaptive round-robin algorithm shows good of performance in request served per second and time used per request.
