ABSTRAK

Meningkatkan kualitas produk merupakan suatu keharusan bagi perusahaan-perusahaan untuk dapat memenangkan persaingan di pasaran. Disamping meningkatkan kualitas produk pelanggan merupakan komponen yang sangat penting bagi perusahaan. Dalam studi yang akan dilakukan dikaji pengembangan spesifikasi disain komponen genset F4L912. Metoda Quality Function Deployment atau disingkat dengan QFD merupakan suatu alat yang berguna untuk pengembangan produk. Untuk dapat digunakan QFD memerlukan input dari pelanggan baik pelanggan produk sendiri maupun produk pesaing. Tahapan-tahapan dari QFD yang digunakan dalam studi ini yaitu product planning phase yang sering disebut house of quality atau disingkat HOQ dan product design phase. HOQ dengan mendapat input dari pelanggan akan dihasilkan output berupa faktor-faktor kritis dari technical requirement. Selanjutnya output dari HOQ merupakan input dari product design matrix. Output yang dihasilkan diurut berdasarkan prosentasenya.Komponen-komponen yang memiliki prosentase terbesar yaitu crankshaft conecting rod dan camshaft. Dari ketiga komponen tersebut yang dianalisa yaitu crankshaft. Analisa spesifikasi disain dari crankshaft difokuskan ke substitusi material yaitu mencari material altematif sebagai pengganti material lama tetapi masih memenuhi persyaratan teknis produk. Analisa kekuatan material dan bantuan software elemen hingga dapat digunakan untuk mendapatkan material altematif dari crankshaft. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisa kekuatan material bahan crankshaft altematif yaitu FCD 70 besi cor grafit bulat. Material FCD 70 diharapkan bisa digunakan untuk membuat crankshaft melalui proses pengecoran menggantikan material lama yaitu DEUTZ 39 Cr 5 yang menggunakan proses forging.


ABSTRACT

The quality of the product must be improve to win competition on the market. Beside improve quality of product the companies must be showing a lot of attention of the voice of customer. Because the customers are the very important component for the companies. This study will be develop design specification of genset F4L912 components. Quality Function Deployment QFD method is a tool to develop the product. QFD need input from own product customer or competitor product customer. The steps of QFD that use in this study include product planning phase house of quality matrix and product design phase product design matrix. House of quality HOQ matrix get input from customer. The output of HOQ is the critical factor from technical requirement. Furthermore the output of HOQ is input on product design matrix and the output of product design matrix is the critical component. Furthermore this output sorted by value from maximum value to minimum value. The maximum value is crankshaft. Then the crankshaft analyzed with strength of material method and finite element method. The result from this research the alternative material of crankshaft is FCD 70 spheroidal graphite iron casting. FCD 70 material hoped be able to produce the crankshaft with casting process to substitute the old material that is Deutz 39 Cr 5.
