SUBTRACTION TECHNIQUE IN ANGIOGRAPHY USING IMAGE REGISTRATION

ABSTRAK

Angiography adalah satu cara visualisasi untuk mendiagnosa kelainan pada pembuluh darah seluruh tubuh. Teknik Subtraksi pada foto menjadi dasar perkembangan ilmu Angiography melalui proses X-Ray. Pada teknik subtraksi terdapat sepasang citra yakni citra mask didapat sebelum media kontras disuntikkan ke pembuluh darah dan citra live didapat setelah media kontras disuntikkan ke pembuluh darah. Selanjutnya dilakukan proses subtraksi kedua citra tersebut. Idealnya hasil subtraksi yang hanya menunjukkan area pembuluh darah. Tetapi pada pelaksanaannya terdapat noise yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor antara lain berasal dari peralatan dan gerakan tubuh pasien yang mengurangi kualitas hasil subtraksi. Pada penelitian ini ditambahkan tahap registrasi sebelum subtraksi untuk mencari bentuk korespondensi antara citra mask dan citra live. Registrasi diharapkan dapat menemukan korespondensi citra mask dan citra live sehingga dapat mengurangi noise. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian citra hasil subtraksi setelah registrasi lebih baik daripada citra hasil subtraksi tanpa registrasi.


ABSTRACT

Angiography is how to visualize the vessel in order to make a diagnostic of any disease in the vessels. Subtraction technique of photograph became the base of development in Angiography through the X-Ray process. There is a pair of images consist of one mask image and one live image in the subtraction technique. Mask image is an image taken from X-Ray before contrast media injected to the vessel while live image is an image taken from the X-Ray after the contrast media injected to the vessel. Finally the two images being subtracted mask image from live image. Ideally the result only show the vessel. But in the fact the ideal condition can not be reached because of noises come from either equipment or patient movements. In this research image registration added before subtraction process to find the correspondence between mask image and live image for noises handling. Based on this research the result of image subtraction using registration is better than the other without registration.
