IMAGE TRANSMISSION WITH DIVERSITY TECHNIQUE OVER WIRELESS CHANNEL

ABSTRAK

Penelitian yang kami kerjakan adalah sistem transmisi citra dengan teknik diversity combining dengan menggunakan dua pola transmisi citra yaitu transmisi citra tanpa kompresi dan transmisi citra dengan kompresi. Kedua pola transmisi citra ini ditransfonnasikan dalam domain wavelet. Selanjutnya masing-masing pola transmisi citra tersebut ditransmisikan pada kanal wireless yang bekerja pada kanal rayleigh fading. Algoritma SPIHT Set Partitioning In Hirarchical Trees digunakan untuk transmisi citra terkompresi. Metoda penggabungan diversity untuk kedua citra kompresi dan citra tanpa kompresi memanfaatkan karakteristik dari transformasi wavelet. Proteksi kesalahan pada kedua pola citra tersebut menggunakan pengkodean kanal Reed Solomon Code 3115. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa kualitas citra yang diterima dapat ditingkatkan unjuk kerjanya bila dibandingkan dengan sistem tanpa menggunakan diversity combining.


ABSTRACT

The Research we propose is the image transmission system with diversity combining method. It uses two patterns of image transmission uncompressed and compressed. Both patterns are transformed into wavelet domain. Further each patterns of image transmission is transmitted to wireless channel on Rayleigh fading. The SPIHT algorithm is used for image compression. Diversity combining methods for both uncompressed and compressed images exploit the characteristics of the wavelet transform. Error protection on both image patterns used channel coding Reed Solomon code 3115. Simulation result demonstrated that the quality of the received image can improved its performance if it is compared to the system without using diversity combining
