SIMULASI PEMBANGKITAN TRAFIK ATM SINTETIS DENGAN PEMODELAN PADA TRAFIK SELF-SIMILAR

ABSTRAK

Pertumbuhan telekomunikasi dewasa ini telah meningkatkan trafik telekomunikasi baik secara kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Pertumbuhan titik- titik layanan telekomunikasi akan mempengaruhi pola trafik yang dibangkitkan pada jaringan terutama pada jaringan backbone. Model trafik sintetis yang digunakan dalam penelitian-penelitian trafik belakangan ini seperti trafik ethernet mempertimbangkan pola-pola distribusi trafik yang memiliki kecenderungan kesamaan struktur dalam rentang waktu yang panjang dalam jaringan yang dikenal dengan nama Self-similar. Dalam thesis ini dilakukan simulasi pembangkitan trafik ATM sintetis yang menggunakan model trafik Self-similar. Pembangkitan dilakukan melalui proses acak yang dibangkitkan oleh generator angka random. Proses akan membentuk deretan kotak linked-list yang masing-masing kotak berisi paket sel dengan jumlah sel tertentu sesuai hasil random. Proses akan mengeluarkan paket sel dan waktu pengiriman secara acak. Dengan membangkitkan 100.000 paket sel diperoleh deret angka yang kemudian dikelompokkan dalam subblok-subblok dengan ukuran dan komposisi yang variatif. Hasil korelasi silang antar subblok memperlihatkan pola kurva yang sama secara struktur sehingga disimpulkan memiliki ciri-ciri Self-similar.


ABSTRACT

The growth in telecommunication service has recently increased traffic quantitatively and qualitatively. The growing number of telecommunication service points influence traffic pattern generated mainly in backbone networks. The use of conventional synthetic traffic modeling in recent telecommunication traffic research has considered a self-similarity behavior presence in busty traffic such as ethernet traffic. The generation is done through random process generated by random number generator. This process will form a series of linked list box which each of it contains cell packet with certain number according to the random result. The process will produce transmit time and cell packet randomly. By generating 100.000 cell packets we will obtain a series of number which is classified in sub blocks with various compositions and sizes. The result of cross correlation between sub blocks indicates curve pattern which is structurally same so they will represent self-similar characteristic.
