PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH TAHU DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN KAYU APU PISTIA STRATIOTES L.

ABSTRAK

Kayu apu Pistia stratiotes L sebagai tumbuhan air memiliki potensi dalam menurunkan kadar pencemar air limbah yang memiliki kadar organik tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan air limbah pabrik tahu sebagai media kayu apu dengan tujuan 1 mengevaluasi pengaruh kayu apu terhadap perubahan rasio BODCOD dan NH4PO43- 2 menetapkan jumlah stage siklus 20 hari yang diperlukan agar kualitas memenuhi baku mutu air limbah menurut SK Gubemur Jawa Timur No.45 tahun 2002 3 mendapatkan rentang konsentrasi awal dengan penyerapan maksimum yang diperlukan untuk pengolahan air limbah tahu 4 melakukan analisis finansial Pabrik Tahu Purnomo Kalidami Surabaya 5 melakukan analisis resiko lingkungan. Parameter yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah BOD COD NH4 P04PO43- dalam 5 reaktor volume 6 L dengan 3 replikasi dan 3 kontrol tanpa kayu apu selama 20 hari pengamatan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa rasio BODCOD ini menurun sampai hari ke-12 dan meningkat lagi sampai hari ke-20. Sedangkan rasio NH4P043- terus menurun selama proses berlangsungnya penelitian yaitu 20 hari. Jumlah stage yang diperlukan sehingga memenuhi baku mutu adalah satu kali dengan konsentrasi awal maksimum COD 1750 mgL BOD 933.3 mgL NH4 31.23 mgL PO43- 4.85 mgL. Rentang konsentrasi awal dengan penurunan maksimum terjadi pada konsentrasi BOD 560-700 mgL COD 1050-1500 mgL NH4 18-23 mgL PO3- 2.9-3.6 mgL. Dari analisis finansial yang dilakukan maka pengolahan limbah tahu dengan menggunakan kayu apu pada pabrik tahu Pumomo Kalidami Surabaya dapat dilakukan dengan break even point pada tahun ke lima. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kualitas lingkungan maka dapat disimpulkan a berdasarkan hasil analisis kualrtatif beberapa komponen resiko yang memiliki resiko tinggi yaitu pencemaran air permukaan b Limbah pabrik tahu Pumomo Surabaya memiliki resiko kecil dengan komponen yang paling berpengaruh adalah limbah cair menurut analisis semi kuantitatif c pengaruh limbah secara keseluruhan terhadap manusia dan lingkungan sekitar pabrik tidak signifikan.


ABSTRACT

Water lettuce Pistia Stratiotes L as a water plantation has a potency degrading polluted tofu waste water with a high organic content. This research used tofu wastewater as the water lettuce media to 1evaluate the influence of water lettuce to the BODCOD and NHP043 ratio 2 determine the number of stages in 20 days cyle time needed to comply with the effluent standard according to the Governor Decree 452002 3 obtain the initial concentration range with the maximum absorption capacity of tofu wastewater 4 analyze the financial aspect of the Pumomo Tofu Factory Kalidami Surbaya 5 conduct the enviromental risk analysis. The parameter used were BOD COD NH4 PO43-. H was done in the total of 6 liter volume of 5 reactor triplicate and 3 controls during 20 days of observation. The result showed that the BODCOD ratio decreased until the 12th day and eventually increased until the 12th day and eventually increased until the 20 day. While the ratio of NH4PO43- decreased constanly during the observation periode. The number stage needed was only one with the initial concentration of COD 1750 mgL BOD 933.3 mgL NH 31.23 mgL P043- 4.85 mgL. The maximum removal was occurred in the initial concentration range of BOD 560-700 mgL COD 1050-1500 mgL NH4 18-23 mgL PO43 2.0-3.6 mgL. From finansial analysis it was shown that this treatment system has break even point within 5 years. And from the environmental analysis it is concluded that a high risk component is surface water contaminant b low risk component is obtained because this treatment system c the overall effect of the wastewater to the community and its environment is considered not significant.
