Lindi merupakan air limbah yang berasal dari tumpukan sampah di Tempat Pembuangan Akhir TPA yang memiliki kadar zat organik N dan P yang tinggi. Lindi dari kawasan TPA Keputih yang tidak dikelola dan diolah dengan baik dapat mencemari air tanah di sekitar lokasi kawasan TPA. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa kemampuan Azolla microphylla dalam menyerap zat organik N dan P dalam lindi. Penelitian dilakukan dalam skala laboratorium dengan menggunakan bak-bak sebagai reaktor tempat penanaman A. microphylla. Waktu retensi A. microphylla dalam media tanam adalah 3-10 hari. Variabel penelitian adalah kerapatan tanam awal variasi konsentrasi COD awal dan waktu panen. Parameter yang dianalisa adalah konsentrasi COD TKN dan P total. Data-data yang didapat dari hasil penelitian akan digunakan sebagai acuan dalam mengelola dan mengolah lindi di kawasan TPA Keputih dengan menggunakan tumbuhan air A microphylla. Hasil analisa diperoleh batas toleransi maksimum A. microphylla adalah pada konsentrasi COD 125 mg1. A. microphylla mampu mengurangi konsentrasi COD sebesar 397 konsentrasi N sebesar 53 dan konsentrasi P sebesar 49 dalam waktu retensi 3 hari. Kerapatan tanam awal yang optimal bagi penyerapan COD N dan P dalam lindi adalah 25 mgcm2 dan waktu panen ideal untuk A. microphylla adalah 3 hari. Dengan waktu retensi 6 hari A. microphylla mampu meredam fluktuasi kualitas lindi. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa A. microphylla mampu mengolah lindi dengan efisiensi 50 dan waktu retensi 3 hari.


Leachate is defined as liquid that has percolated through solid waste mounds which has high content of organic matters N and P. The leachate from Keputih Final Disposal Site could potentially pollute the groundwater around the site if disposed untreated. This research was conducted to analyze the ability of Azolla microphylla to absorb organic matters N and P from leachate. The research was done using the laboratory-scale basins as reactors where A. microphylla were planted. Retention time for A. microphylla was 3-10 days. Variables of this research were initial plant density initial COD concentration and harvesting period. Parameters analyzed are final COD concentration TKN and total P. Data derived from the research would be used as a reference in controlling and processing leachate at the Keputih site using aquatic plants microphylla. Results of the analysis revealed that the maximum tolerance limit of A. microphylla upon the COD initial concentration was approximately 125 mg1. A. microphylla was able to reduce the concentration of 397 COD 53 N and 49 P with 3 days retention time. The optimum initial plant density for the absorption of COD N and P from leachate was 25 mgcm2 and the ideal harvesting period of A. microphylla was 3 days. With the retention time of 6 days A. microphylla was able to reduce the fluctuation of leachate quality. It is concluded that A. microphylla was able to treat leachate with approx. 50 efficiency and 3 days retention time.
