ABSTRAK

Mencapai kondisi nyaman dalam ruangan adalah sebuah masalah yang spesifik di daerah beriklim tropis lembab. Masalah yang timbul pada daerah ini adalah tingginya kondisi kelembaban dan temperatur. Suhu yang terlampau tinggi melebihi ambang batas zona kenyamanan sangat menganggu kenyamanan beraktifitas. Salah satu alternatif pemecahannya adalah meminimalisir beban panas di dalam ruangan dengan metode penghawaan alami. Penghawaan alami adalah salah satu strategi passive cooling. Penghawaan alami pada bangunan tradisional di daerah tropis berguna untuk mencapai kondisi nyaman di dalam ruangan. Desain dari sistem penghawaan alami elemen atap pada rumah berbasis atap Joglo diharapkan bisa menjadi solusi alternatif bagi tercapainya kondisi ventilasi bangunan yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu masalah yang timbul dalam penelitian ini adalah sejauhmana bukaan atap berbasis atap Joglo pada penghawaan alami dapat berguna bagi terbentuknya performa kondisi nyaman di dalam ruang. Pada intinya sistim ventilasi atap dipergunakan sebagai penghapus panas pada bangunan di daerah tropis lembab. Optimasi desain ventilasi pada atap rumah Joglo diharapkan mampu menghasilkan proses sirkulasi udara ke dalam bangunan secara optimal melalui aliran udara yang berada di area atap bangunan rumah tersebut dan masuk ke dalam bangunan. Tesis ini berisi tentang penelitian penghawaan alami pada ventilasi atap rumah berbasis rumah Joglo. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan simulasi komputer dengan program software CFX-5 yang berbasis CFD Computational Fluid Dynamics. Program ini digunakan untuk mengetahui pola dan arah pergerakan angin serta besaran kecepatan udara pada sebuah obyek rumah dengan ventilasi atap berbasis rumah Joglo. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada kondisi bukaan atap rumah berbasis atap Joglo beserta karakter bentuknya ternyata berpengaruh terhadap sirkulasi udara. Kondisi ini mampu menghasilkan kecepatan angin dominan di dalam bangunan terutama rumah berbasis atap Joglo Mangkurat yaitu sebesar 0.4 - 0.5 ms dan dengan selisih tekanan udara berkisar pada 0.8 1.0 kgms2 mampu memberi efek pendinginan dominan dalam ruangan sebesar 0.95 1.2 C .


ABSTRACT

To produce the indoor comfort is a specific problem in hot humid tropical region. The problem is high air humidity condition and temperature. High temperature over comfort zone is big problem for conducting activity. One of alternative solutions is by minimizing internal gain by using passive cooling method that is natural ventilation. Natural ventilation is one of passive cooling strategies. Natural ventilation in traditional buildings in tropical climate is useful to reach thermal comfort. Natural ventilation system design on roof element of Joglo could be alternative solution creating the better building ventilation. Therefore the problem in this research is how far the roof element of Joglo-based in natural ventilation can be useful to form indoor thermal comfort. Essentially roof ventilation system is used as heat controller in hot humid tropical buildings and the design of Joglo house roof as a ventilation system is hoped be able to generate comfort performance with indoor air velocity optimally through air circulation surrounding that house roof. This thesis contained about natural ventilation on open house roof element of Joglo. This research method uses computer simulation CFD program Computational Fluid Dynamics in which it use to know pattern and air movement direction also the intensity of air velocity and air direction on object of ventilation Joglo- based house roof.The result of this research can show that on open roof modification condition roof ventilation of Joglo-based house roof with the form character of its building is able to produce the indoor air rate velocity mainly for Joglo Mangkurat-based house roof that value between 0.4 until 0.5 ms interval value for air pressure between 0.8 1.0 kg ms2 and give the indoor majority cooling effect between 0.95 until 1.2 C.
