ABSTRAK

Kemajuan dibidang power electronic yang sangat cepat memungkinkan penggunaaan Flexible AC Transmission Systems FACTS devices yang sangat luas dalam sistem tenaga. FACTS devices dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan aliran daya stabilitas sistem dan mengurangi rugi-rugi pada saluran transmisi. Aliran daya yang optimal dapat dicapai dengan penentuan lokasi FACTS devices yang tepat dan rating yang sesuai. Pada tesis ini breeder algoritma genetika BGA digunakan untuk menentukan lokasi optimal FACTS devices dalam sistem tenaga. Optimisasi secara simultan dilakukan pada tiga parameter yaitu lokasi tipe dan rating FACTS devices untuk meningkatkan loadability sistem tenaga. Jenis FACTS devices yang digunakan adalah Thyristor Controlled Series Capasitor TCSC dan Static Var Compensator SVC. Hasil optimisasi pada sistem 500 KV Jawa-Madura-Bali dengan menggunakan software MATLAB versi 7.04 menunjukan bahwa penggunaan TCSC dan SVC secara simultan merupakan kombinasi yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan loadability sistem. Hasil simulasi juga menunjukkan bahwa penambahan devices yang lebih besar dari 14 buah tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatkan loadability dari sistem.


ABSTRACT

With the rapid development of power electronics Flexible AC Transmission Systems FACTS devices have been proposed and implemented in power systems. FACTS devices can be used to control power flow enhance system stability and minimize line losses in power systems. This thesis presents a breeder genetic algorithm to seek the optimal location of FACTS devices in power system. The optimizations are performed on three parameters the location of the devices their types and their values. The system loadability is applied as measure of power system performance. Two different kinds of FACTS devices are used Thyristor Controlled Series Capasitor TCSC and Static Var Compensator SVC. Simulations are done in 500 KV Jawa-Madura-Bali power system. Results show that the simultaneous use of TCSC and SVC is the most effective to increase the loadability of the system. In all the cases we observe that the maximum number of devices which is loadability cannot be improved is 14 devices.
