CORRELATION BETWEEN CBR WITH PHYSICAL PARAMETER OF RECLAMATION EMBANKMENT SOIL

ABSTRAK

Pertumbuhan penduduk yang tinggi mengakibatkan lahan hunian semakin sempit dan perlu adanya pengembangan lahan. Salah satu cara untuk tujuan pengembangan kawasan dengan cara reklamasi. Reklamasi adalah suatu pekerjaan penimbunan tanah dengan skala volume dan luasan yang sangat besar pada suatu lahan atau kawasan kosong dan berair seperti di kawasan pantai daerah rawa sungai danau dan suatu lokasi di laut. Pada saat pelaksanaan reklamasi pantai kebutuhan material timbunan sangat besar. Selain persyaratan umum yang harus dipenuhi sebagai material timbunan yaitu pasir minimum 80 dan lanau-lempung maksimum 20 Wahyudi Herman 1997 Teknik Reklamasi Teknik Sipil ITS Surabaya persyaratan kepadatan juga harus dipenuhi. Pihak Kontraktor sebagai pelaksana lapangan ingin mengetahui secara cepat dan mudah pada saat material timbunan tiba di lapangan dengan hanya melakukan salah satu test kepadatan misal CBR maka tanpa harus melakukan tipe test kepadatan yang lainnya dapat diketahui parameter kepadatan tanah yang lain misal dry density angka pori dan porositas. Penelitian melalui uji laboratorium untuk mempelajari korelasi antara CBR dengan parameter fisis tanah timbunan reklamasi ini menggunakan material timbunan yang terdiri dari lempung-lanau lolos ayakan No. 200 atau diameter 0075 mm dan pasir lolos ayakan No.10 atau diameter 2 mm. Sampel dibuat 5 macam dengan komposisi pasir lempung-lanau sebagai berikut 100 0 95 5 90 10 85 15 80 20 . Langkah selanjutnya pemadatan modified proctor dengan jumlah sampel 60 sampel 6 variasi x 5 sampelvariasi x 2 sampel kondisi jenuhtidak jenuh. Tahap berikutnya adalah pengujian harga CBR sebanyak 60 sampel 6 variasi x 5 sampelvariasi x 2 sampel kondisi jenuh tidak jenuh dengan kondisi jenuh direndam dan tidak jenuh tidak direndam. Tahap akhir adalah pengujian Volumetric-Gravimetri dan spesific gravity sebanyak 120 sampel 6 variasi x 5 sampelvariasi x 2 sampel kondisi jenuhtidak jenuh x 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar nilai CBR maka semakin besar nilai berat volume kering d semakin kecil nilai angka pori e dan porositas n dan sebaliknya. Nilai d terbesar didapatkan dari campuran 90 pasir dengan 10 lempung-lanau dimana pada kondisi tidak jenuh dengan CBR 44068 dan pada kondisi jenuh dengan CBR 213099 didapatkan harga d yang sama d 2 tm3. Hasil percobaan dinyatakan pula dengan hubungan antara d dengan CBR dimana secara regresi linier untuk tanah tidak jenuh adalah CBR 31989. d -20096 dan untuk tanah jenuh dinyatakan dengan CBR 58014. d - 92613. Persamaan antar parameter ini hanya valid digunakan untuk material reklamasi dengan komposisi pasir minimal 80 dan lempung-lanau maksimal 20.


ABSTRACT

The high population growth causes residence area to become nerrower and nerrower so it is required to develop the area. One of the several ways for developing the area is reclamation. Reclamation is soil embankment with very large scale of volume and width in an area or free and watery zone such as coastal area swamp river lake and a location in sea. In coastal reclamation it is required a great deal of embankment material. There are prerequisites that have to be fulfilled as embankment material. The general prerequisites are 80 minimum sand and 20 maximum silt-clay. Whereas another prerequisite is compaction Wahyudi Herman 1997 Teknik Reklamasi Teknik Sipil ITS Surabaya. Contractor as a reclamation implementer on site that wants to know embankment material fastly and easily is only by conducting CBR test a kind of density test it is without conducting other types of density test. By using this test it is known other parameters of soil density such as dry density void ratio and porosity. This research is carried out by means of laboratory test for studying correlation between CBR with physical parameter of reclamation embankment soil. This test uses embankment materials namely clay-silt sieve releasing No.200 or material with diameter 0.075 mm and sand sieve releasing No.10 or material with diameter 2 mm. There are 5 samples with composition of sand clay-silt such as 100 0 95 5 90 10 85 15 80 20 . The test is conducted with the following steps. The first step is modified proctor compaction with 60 total samples 6 variations x 5 samplesvariations x 2 samples saturated-unsaturated of condition. The next step is CBR value test using 60 samples 6 variations x 5 samplesvariations x 2 samples of saturated-unsaturated condition with saturated condition soaked and unsaturated condition unsoaked. The last step is volumetric-gravimetry and specific gravity tests using 120 samples 6 variations x 5 samplesvariations x 2 saturated condition samples 2 unsaturated condition samples. The result of this research indicates that the larger of CBR value the heavier the weight of dry volume d the less of void ratio e and porosity n and on the contrary. The largest d value is obtained from mixture of 90 sand and 10 clay-silt where in unsaturated condition with CBR value CBR 44.068 and in saturated condition with CBR value CBR 21.3099 it is obtained the same d value d 2 tm3. The research result is also indicated with correlation between d with CBR that in linear regression unsaturated soil is CBR 31989. d -20096 and saturated soil is indicated with CBR 58014. d - 92613. The equation between these parameters is valid whenever it is used for reclamation material with 80 minimum sand and 20 maximum clay-silt compositions.
