NUMERICAL STUDY CAUSE OF FAILURE BURNER RADIALLY STRATIFIED FLAME CORE CASE GRESIK STEAM POWER PLANT 1 AND 2

ABSTRAK

Kerusakan overheating burner PLTU 1 dan 2 terjadi setiap tahun sejak tahun 1999 sehingga menimbulkan kerugian operasi dan pemeliharaan unit pembangkit. Jenis burner yang terpasang adalah Radially Stratified Flame Core yang menggunakan 3 jenis udara pembakaran primary secondary dan tertiary dalam satu pusat nyala api dan dan dapat menggunakan bahan bakar gas atau bahan bakar minyak residu secara bergantian. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan diatas dilakukan pendekatan simulasi proses pembakaran untuk mendapatkan karakteristik - karakteristik nyala api proses permbakaran sesuai desain burner dengan melakukan perubahan pasokan udara pembakaran dan posisi fuel gun. Perhitungan numerik dilakukan dengan software CFD Fluent. Dengan studi numerik ini maka akan diketahui karakteristik nyala api yang meliputi distribusi kecepatan distribusi temperatur dan komposisi gas buang dan pengaruhnya pada temperatur nozzle burner gas sehingga dapat diketahui penyebab kerusakan burner tersebut. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa kerusakan overheating disebabkan tingginya radiasi panas yang diterima bagian ujung nozzle burner gas.


ABSTRACT

Damage of PLTU burner overheating 1 and 2 happened every year since year 1999 causing loss of operation and conservancy of generating unit. Type of Burner the attached is Radially Stratified Flame Core using 3 combustion air type primary secondary and tertiary in one flame center and can use gas fuel or oil fuel of residu by interchangeble manner. To solve problems above done by approach of combustion process simulation to get characteristic - flame characteristic process according to burner desain by making a change combustion air supply and position of fuel gun. Numerical calculation done with CFD Fluent software. With the numerical study hence will know by flame characteristic covering speed distribution temperature distribution and gas composition throw away and its influence at temperature of nozzle gas burner so that can know cause of damage of burner. Result of simulation indicate that damage of overheating caused by high of thermal radiation which accepted by part of tip of gas burner nozzle.
