[ Description ]
dibutuhkan. Kondaktivitas termal yang tinggi mengurangi perbedaan temperature
yang dibutuhkan antara sumber panas dan fluida agar ada laju perpindahan panas;
dipakai.
Alt. Description
The capability of refrigerants being used as working fluids in the Organic
Rankine Cycle for production of electrical energy has been carried out by many
researchers in the past and ample information has been put forward in terms of the
performance of the system with various refrigerants. This research has the objective
of analyzing the influence of the transport and thermodynamic properties of the
refrigerants on the performance of the Organic Rankine Cycle.
The research was carried out by analyzing the performance of the system
components and the overall Organic Rankine Cycle based on the ideal cycles of the
various working fluids under investigation. Contributions of the transport and
thermodynamic properties of the working fluids towards the performance of the
components and the system were then compared.
A high refrigerant density was found to reduce the volumetric flow rate
required and the pump energy consumption and so reduces the size of the equipment
required. A high thermal conductivity reduces the temperature difference required for
heat transfer to take place between the fluid and the heat source, a high enthalpy of
vaporization increases the amount of heat taken by the working fluid thus a high
enthalpy at turbine entry and the viscosity of the refrigerant should remain low with
temperature elevation. But no single working fluid possesses all these characteristics,
thus the choice of the most appropriate fluid has also to consider the state of the heat
source like heat available, flow rate achievable and the lifespan.
