Level keamanan transmisi dalam satu kondisi operasi dapat disimulasikan dengan analisa load flow. Keamanan transmisi dinyatakan pula secara kuantitatif dengan besaran indeks keamanan. Dengan indeks ini, level keamanan tiap saluran untuk satu kondisi operasi dapat diurutkan kedalam kontrol operasi maupun perencanaan. Perbaikan nilai reaktansi saluran transmisi dapat dilakukan dengan penambahan kompensator seri. Penelitian ini menganalisa pengaruh penggunaan kompensator seri terhadap stabilitas dalam suatu sistem tenaga listrik akibat sistem yang tidak seimbang (lebih dari 75 derajad) sehingga penambahan kompesator seri memungkinkan memperbaiki efek negatif ini.
Simulasi keamanan transmisi perhitungan load flow menggunakan metode Newton Raphson dan Diaplikasikan pada sistem jaring transmisi Jawa Timur (150 KV) yang terdiri atas 75 bus.

Security level of transmission in one operating condition can be simulated with the load flow analysis. Transmission security also expressed quantitatively with the amount of the security index. With this index, the security level of each channel for one operating condition can be sorted into control of operations and planning. Improvement of transmission line reactance values can be done with the addition of series compensator. This study analyzes the effect of the series compensator for stability in electrical power system caused by an unbalanced system (more than 75 degrees) so that additional series kompesator allow repair of these negative effects. Transmission security simulation load flow calculation using Newton-Raphson method and Applied nets on the transmission system of East Java (150 KV), which consists of 75 buses.
