ABSTRAK

Penggunaan metoda fotoelastis dalam menentukan medan regangan dan tegangan telah banyak dilakukan. Penggunaan metode ini diperhadapkan pada masalah kepresisian saat penghitungan orde frinji pada zona pembebanan karena terbentuknya pola frinji yang rapat dan jumlah yang banyak pada medan frinji isokromatik terutama untuk beban yang relatif besar. Pada penelitian ini perbesaran optis dilakukan dengan menggunakan mikroskop dengan perbesaran optis maksimum 50x terhadap medan frinji isokromatis yang didapatkan dari eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan adalah secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan sistem optik dan tipe polariskop refleksi. Suatu alat pemberi beban sederhana didesain untuk memberikan beban kompresi pada spesimen berbentuk disk pejal. Medan frinji isokromatik diamati pada zona pembebanan untuk tingkat pembebanan yang berbeda dan dilakukan perekaman citra pada kondisi tanpa perbesaran perbesaran 9x perbesaran 15x dan perbesaran 20x dengan menggunakan kamera Nikon type SLR Single Lens Reflex Serie D3000. Pengolahan citra dengan menggunakan software OpenCV C dilakukan memperjelas pola frinji isokromatik yang terbentuk pada permukaan spesimen untuk memudahkan penentuan orde frinji maksimum yang dapat diamati. Berdasarkan orde frinji tersebut didapatkan efek perbesaran optis berupa tambahan frinji rata-rata untuk masing-masing perbesaran. Selisih tegangan prinsipal hasil eksperimen dikomparasi dengan menggunakan software Finite Element Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan trend yang semakin meningkat untuk besarnya tambahan orde frinji rata-rata yang diperoleh dengan bertambahnya tingkat perbesaran optis dimana nilai maksimumnya diperoleh pada kondisi perbesaran optic 20x yaitu sebesar 2 orde frinji.


ABSTRACT

The utilization of photoelastis method in measuring strain and stress fields have been carried out. It was faced with the precission problem of determining frinji order of loading and cracking and notch areas. Several studies done to minimize it but the same problem over and over on rapid fringe areas. In this study microscope was used as an additional tool in photoelastic device to get magnification of isochromatic fringe size obtained from experiment. An experimental method was used by utilisizing optical system and reflective polariscope. A simple compression tool designed to provide a compression load on the solid disk-shaped specimens. Isochromatic fringe field observed at the loading zone for different loading and captured image based on such condition without magnification and with magnification respectively 9x 15x and 20x by using SLR type Nikon camera Serie D3000. Image processing using OpenCV software C is used to produce more clear isochromatic fringe pattern formed on the surface of the specimen in determination of the maximum fringe order observed. Furthermore average of additional fringe could be obtained as the optical magnification result .The experimental analysis has been compared with Finite Elemen analysis Software. The experimental result has shown an increasing trend in an average of additional amount of fringe-order with increasing levels of optical magnification. Its maximum value has been obtained on condition 20x optical zoom which was 2-order fringe
