Penggambaran vegetasi secara detail pada sebuah game mampu menjadikan environment game menjadi lebih imersif. Proses untuk penggambaran vegetasi secara detail pada sebuah environment game akan berdampak pada penurunan nilai fps (frame rate per second), sehingga diperlukan suatu metode untuk mempercepat proses tersebut. LOD (Level Of Detail) merupakan metode yang membagi detail suatu geometri menjadi beberapa bagian. Level of detail banyak digunakan untuk mempercepat penggambaran terrain, penggambaran detail dari environment, dan penggambaran geometri yang membutuhkan beberapa detail yang berbeda. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode three level of detail yaitu metode level of detail dengan tiga tingkatan penggambaran rumput. Dengan menggunakan three level of detail fps dari sistem meningkat 2 sampai dengan 15 kali lebih cepat dari pada sistem yang tidak menggunakan three level of detail.

Rendering detail vegetation in a game can make the game environment become more imersif. The process for rendering detail vegetation will decrease the value of fps (frame rate per second), therefor a method to accelerate this process is needed. LOD (Level of Detail) is a method that divide the details of a geometry into several sections. Level Of Detail is widely used to accelerate the rendering of terrain, detail rendering of the environmnet, and rendering of the geometry that requires some different details. This research used three level of detail method namely level of detail method with three level of rendering grass. By using this method, the system’s fps has increased 2-15 times faster than a system that does not using it.
