ARRANGEMENT OF HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS PATTERN FOR EFFECTIVENESS OF URBAN AIR FLOW IN HUMID TROPICAL REGION

ABSTRAK

Peningkatan jumlah bangunan tinggi di Jakarta mengakibatkan penurunan kecepatan angin hingga 10 ms data BMKG Kemayoran. Kondisi ini memicu meningkatnya temperatur udara kawasan yang akhirnya dapat menciptakan fenomena urban heat island UHI. Adanya keterkaitan antara pola kawasan terhadap kondisi aliran udara menyebabkan perlunya kajian terhadap pola kawasan bangunan tinggi yang berbeda. Di Jakarta saat ini terdapat beberapa kawasan bangunan tinggi dengan pola bervariasi seperti pola cross di kawasan SCBD dan memusat di Mega Kuningan. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas aliran udara perkotaan pada kawasan bangunan tinggi dengan pola linear cross dan memusat. Metode eksperimen digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pola massa bangunan tinggi terhadap perilaku dan efektifitas aliran udara perkotaan. Eksperimen dilakukan dengan bantuan simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamic CFD untuk mengujicoba beberapa parameter desain yaitu orientasi kawasan dan rasio nilai HW heightwidth. Evaluasi efektifitas aliran udara didasarkan pada kebutuhan kenyamanan ruang luar di daerah tropis lembab pendistribusian polusi udara dan proses pendinginan secara konveksi pada selubung bangunan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola linear cross dan memusat pada kawasan bangunan tinggi mempengaruhi perilaku dan efektifitas aliran udara perkotaan. Secara keseluruhan hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa ketiga pola kawasan yang diuji belum memenuhi efektifitas aliran udara perkotaan di daerah tropis lembab. Namun apabila dievaluasi berdasarkan aspek yang dibutuhkan pola cross dan linear memberikan potensi yang lebih baik untuk kenyamanan ruang luar dan pendistribusian polusi udara. Kemudian untuk evaluasi paparan angin pola memusat memberikan potensi yang lebih baik. Hasil evaluasi juga menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kawasan dan nilai HW sebagai parameter desain pada kawasan bangunan tinggi turut mempengaruhi efektifitas aliran udara yang dicapai dari ketiga pola tersebut.


ABSTRACT

The increase number of high-rise buildings in Jakarta results in the decrease of wind speed up to 100 ms data from BMKG Kemayoran. This condition triggers the increase of air temperature which can eventually cause urban heat island phenomenon UHI. The correlation between high-rise buildings pattern with the airflow condition requires a study on different high-rise buildings pattern. Now in Jakarta there are some areas of high-rise buildings with various patterns such as cross pattern in SCBD and centered patterns in Mega Kuningan. Based on the phenomena this study is aimed to observe the urban airflow effectiveness in the area of high-rise buildings with linear cross and centered pattern. The method of experiment is used to find out the effect of high-rise buildings pattern to the behaviour and effectiveness of urban airflow. This experiment was conducted with the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD simulation to experiment some design parameters area orientation and the ratios of HW height to width. The effectiveness evaluation of urban airflow is based on the need of the outdoor comfort in humid tropical region air pollution distribution and cooling process on the building surface by convection. The result of this research shows that linear cross and centered pattern in the areas of high-rise buildings affects the behaviour and effectiveness of urban airflow. As a whole the evaluation result of the three-pattern shows that the three evaluated areas have not fulfilled the effectiveness of urban airflow in humid tropical regions. However when it is evaluated based on the needed aspects linear and cross pattern provide better potential of the outdoor comfort and air pollution distribution. And for wind exposure evaluation centered pattern provide better potential than the other patterns. The evaluation result shows that the area orientation and ratios of HW also affect the effectiveness of urban airflow in the three-area of high-rise buildings.
