ABSTRAK

Saat ini masalah penyediaan air bersih menjadi perhatian khusus baik bagi negara-negara maju maupun negara yang sedang berkembang. Indonesia sebagai halnya pula negara berkembang lainnya tidak luput dari permasalahan air bersih bagi masyarakat. Salah satu masalah pokok yang dihadapi adalah kurang tersedianya sumber air yang bersih. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut maka dilakukan penelitian tentang pengolahan air untuk mengolah air sungai agar dapat dioperasikan dan dimanfaatkan oleh kelompok terkecil dari masyarakat yaitu rumah tangga atau oleh kelompok-kelompok tertentu. Pengolahan di awali dengan proses koagulasi lalu dilanjutkan dengan proses flokulasi dan sedimentasi. Pada penelitian ini air baku diambil dari Kali Surabaya dimana tingkat kekeruhannya diperoleh dengan menciptakan kekeruhan buatan 50 NTU 75 NTU dan 100 NTU variasi waktu detensi untuk proses koagulasi 30 detik dan 60 detik variasi waktu detensi untuk proses flokulasi pneumatis 30 menit dan 60 menit dengan gradient kecepatan 25detik dan 50detik dan dilanjutkan dengan proses sedimentasi. Kemudian dapat diketahui removal kekeruhan dan zat organik pada air baku. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan dengan td koagulasi 60 detik td flokulasi 60 menit dan Gradient kecepatan flokulasi 50detik menghasilkan removal yang tertinggi yaitu 88-915 untuk tingkat kekeruhan dan 7209-7551 untuk kandungan zat organik.


ABSTRACT

Currently the water supply problem is of particular concern for both developed countries and developing countries . Indonesia as well as other developing countries too did not escape from the problems of clean water for the community . One of the main problems faced is the lack of availability of safe water sources . Under these conditions conducted research on water treatment to treat water streams that can be operated and utilized by the smallest group of people ie households or by certain groups . Processing begins with the coagulation process followed by flocculation and sedimentation processes . In this study the raw water is taken from Surabaya where turbidity levels are obtained by creating artificial turbidity of 50 NTU 75 NTU and 100 NTU variations detention time for the coagulation process 30 seconds and 60 seconds the variation detention time for flocculation process pneumatically 30 minutes and 60 minutes the velocity gradient 25sec and 50sec and continued with the process of sedimentation . Then it can be seen removal of turbidity and organic matter in the raw water . From this study obtained by coagulation td 60 seconds 60 minutes and td flocculation flocculation velocity gradient 50sec removal resulted in the highest 88 -91.5 for turbidity and 72.09 -75.51 for substances organic .
