PENGARUH SELENIUM DAN JUMLAH SCIRPUS GROSSUS UNTUK EFISIENSI PENGOLAHAN LINDI TPA KAB. SIDOARJO MENGGUNAKAN VARIASI KOMPOSISI MEDIA

SELENIUM EFFECT AND SCIRPUS GROSSUS ON EFFECIENCY OF LEACHATE TREATMENT AT FINAL DISPOSAL SIDOARJO DISTRICT WITH DIFFERENT MEDIA COMPOSITION

ABSTRAK

Tempat Pembuangan Akhir TPA Kababupaten Sidoarjo menghasilkan lindi yang saat ini tidak dilakukan pengolahan. Lindi tersebut diketahui telah mencemari 60 Ha sawah masyarakat sekitar TPA sehingga diperlukan pengolahan fitoremediasi. Selain biayanya murah dan ramah lingkungan fitoremediasi juga efektif untuk menurunkan kadar bahan organik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh selenium dan jumlah S. grossus untuk pengolahan lindi TPA Kabupaten Sidoarjo dengan menggunakan komposisi volume media yang berbeda.Penelitian dilakukan skala laboratorium menggunakan sistem vertikal free flow dan S. grossus sebagai remediator. Penelitian diawali dengan range finding test. Tahap berikutnya adalah uji fitoremediasi dengan waktu tinggal 4 hari. Variasi yang digunakan meliputi pertama perbandingan volume komposisi media tanah dengan pasir sebesar 5050 7525 2575. Kedua variasi jumlah S. grossus yaitu 10 12 dan 14 tumbuhan012 m2 luas reaktor. Analisa parameter antara lain BOD COD dan NH4-N menggunakan standar metode EPHA. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rasio BODCOD dan CN terbaik didapatkan dari reaktor 14 tumbuhan012 m2 untuk konsentrasi lindi 330 mgL COD dan 12 tumbuhan012 m2 untuk konsentrasi lindi 660 mgL dan 994 mgL COD yang masing masing menggunakan media 75 pasir dan 25 tanah. Penambahan selenium 01 mgL dan 05 mgL selenium oksida tidak berpengaruh terhadap rasio BODCOD maupun CN namun mampu meningkatkan biomassa S. grossus.


ABSTRACT

Final disposal in Sidoarjo District produced leachate which it have not treated yet. Those leachate have known polluted 60 ha areas of rice field around final disposal so that causes a necessary treatment is to be needed such as phytoremediation. Phytoremediation is an effective method to treat an organic matter besides it a low cost and green technology. The aim of this research to determine the effect of selenium and how many S.grossus needed for leachate treatment on final disposal at Sidoarjo District with different media composition volume. This Research conducted laboratory scale using vertical free flow system and S. grossus as remediator.. The first step of this research is range finding test.. Futher done phytoremediation test with detention time 4 days. Variations include composition media volume soil and sand is 5050 7525 2575 number of plants is 10 12 14 plants each reactor. Parameters were analyzed is BOD COD and NH4-N using standart method EPHA. Result showed that the best value BODCOD and CN ratio obtained where 14 plants for 330 mgL COD leachate concentration and 12 plants for 660 mgL leachate concentration and 994 mgL COD respectively using 75 sand and 25 soil media. Besides selenium addition 01 mgL and 05 mgL selenium oxide did not affect to BODCOD and CN ratio.
