STUDY OF THE REPAIR METHOD OF POST-FIRE SHIP HULL CONSTRUCTION

ABSTRAK

Kebakaran pada kapal mengakibatkan kerugian yang cukup besar. Kebakaran dapat menimbulkan kerusakan tidak hanya pada muatan kapal saja namun kerusakan pada bagian konstruksi maupun sistem-sistem pada kapal. Konstruksi lambung kapal yang umumnya terbuat dari baja karbon rendah A36 kemungkinan akan terjadi perubahan sifat mekanik pasca terbakar. Hal ini menimbulkan keraguan pada pemilik kapal untuk menggunakannya kembali pasca terbakar. Tujuan dari penelitian Tesis ini adalah membuat metode pengembangan perbaikan kapal pada konstruksi lambung kapal pasca terbakar. Pemeriksaan terhadap material A36 dan sambungan las serta laju korosi pasca terbakar telah dilakukan. Kebakaran disimulasikan dengan memanaskan baja pada tungku furnace. Baja yang telah dipanasi kemudian didinginkan secara mendadak quenching dengan air laut. Ada 11 variasi suhu pemanasan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini. Uji tarik raw material dilakukan pada baja pasca terbakar. Uji tarik dan bending pada sambungan las dilakukan pada sambungan pelat baja pasca terbakar dengan pelat baja baru. Nilai laju korosi pelat pasca terbakar didapatkan dengan menggunakan metode sel 3 elektrode. Pada pengujian pelat baja pasca terbakar didapatkan hasil bahwa pada suhu di atas 300C-600C nilai regangan masih pada batas yang diizinkan yaitu di atas 23. Sedangkan mulai suhu 650C-1000C nilai regangan dibawah 23 dan sudah tidak memenuhi standard ASTM meskipun nilai tegangan luluh dan tegangan puncaknya masih memenuhi standard. Sedangkan hasil uji sambungan las didapatkan semua sambungan las pada material pasca terbakar dengan material baru memiliki sambungan yang baik dengan indikasi patahan pada basemetal. Sedangkan nilai laju korosi suhu di atas 600C didapatkan nilai laju korosinya sebesar 0658 mmpy termasuk kategori kurang baik cukup. Berdasarkan semua hasil uji laboratorium yang dilakukan pada kebakaran pada suhu di atas 600C baja mulai tidak bisa digunakan kembali dengan batasan hasil uji raw material sambungan las dan laju korosinya. Model pengembangan perbaikan pada kapal pasca terbakar dapat dilakukan dengan menentukan karakteristik mekanik baja pasca terbakar dengan pengumpulan data saat terjadinya kebakaran inspeksi visual dan pengujian bagian yang terbakar di laboratorium jika ada keraguan.


ABSTRACT

Fire on the ship can result substantial losses. Fires can cause damage not only to the cargo ship but also can damage to the system construction and systems on ships. Hull construction of ship is generally made of low carbon steel A36 is likely to occur post-fire changes in the mechanical properties. This case can make doubt on the ship owner to use it again after the fire. The purpose of this thesis research is to make the development of a method to repair the ship hull construction post-burn. Examination of the material as well as the A36 welding connections and corrosion rate after burning has been done. Fire is simulated by heating the steel in the furnace. Steel that has been heated then suddenly cooled quenching with sea water. There are 11 variations of the heating temperature used in this study. Tensile test performed on steel raw materials after burning. Tensile test and bending at the weld joint made in connection with the post burning steel plate and the new one. Value of post-fire plate corrosion rate obtained by using 3-electrode cell. In the post-fire testing of steel plates showed that at temperatures above 300 C-600C strain value is still on the permitted levels above 23. While starting temperature of 650C-1000C the strain rate is below 23 and it does not meet ASTM standard although the value of the yield stress and tensile stress still meet the standard. While the test results obtained all welded joints welded joints in post-burning material with the new material has a good connection with faultindication on basemetal. While the value of the corrosion rate at temperatures above 600C the corrosion rate values obtained for 0.658 mmpy including unfavorable category enough. Based on all the laboratory experiment test results in a fire at temperatures above 600C the steel begins to be used again by the limitations of test results of raw material weld joints and corrosion rate. Model development of post-fire repairs on vessels can be done by determining the mechanical characteristics of the steel post on fire with a data collection time of the fire visual inspection and testing of the burn in the laboratory if there is any doubt.
