ABSTRAK

MANET Mobile Ad-hoc Network terdiri dari kumpulan mobile node yang saling berkomunikasi menggunakan media wireless tanpa infrastruktur jaringan tetap. Hal ini menyebabkan kongesti rentan terjadi pada intermediate node ketika pengiriman packet data dari source ke destination dan menyebabkan packet loss sehingga mengakibatkan penurunan kinerja jaringan. OLSR Optimized Link State Routing adalah sebuah protokol routing proactive pada MANET. Pemilihan MPR Multi Point Relay pada OLSR merupakan proses pemilihan node yang nantinya bertugas untuk membangun rute pengiriman packet data dari source ke destination pada jaringan. Kongesti pada jaringan dapat terjadi karena jumlah packet yang datang melebihi kapasitas buffer sehingga menyebabkan penurunan terhadap kinerja jaringan seperti tingginya packet loss end-to-end delay dan rendahnya throughput jaringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah mekanisme pemilihan MPR pada OLSR dengan metode congestion detection untuk membangun rute dengan level kongesti lebih rendah saat pengiriman packet data dari source ke destination. Sistem ini diberi nama CD-OLSR Congestion Detection Optimized Link State Routing. Penelitian ini disimulasikan pada Network Simulator NS-2. Untuk mengukur kinerja CD-OLSR dilakukan pengujian dengan menggunakan 3 skenario. Pertama memberikan variasi jumlah koneksi end-to-end e2e dari 10 20 3040 dan 50 koneksi e2e. Kedua memberikan variasi CBR Constant Bit Rate load dengan nilai 4 6 8 10 12 14 dan 16 packets. Ketiga memberikan variasi kecepatan mobilitas node dengan nilai 10 20 30 40 dan 50ms. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata PDR packet delivery ratio pada CD-OLSR lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan OLSR yaitu sebesar 1405 pada skenario 1 1702 pada skenario 2 dan 483 pada skenario 3. Rata-rata e2e delay pada OLSR lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan CD-OLSR dengan selisih 0.59s pada skenario 1 1.40s pada skenario 2 dan 124s pada skenario 3 sedangkan rata-rata throughput pada CD-OLSR lebih tinggi daripada OLSR dengan selisih nilai 10.60kbps pada skenario 1 21.57kbps pada skenario 2 dan 590kbps pada skenario 3. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode congestion detection untuk pemilihan MPR dapat memperbaiki kinerja protokol OLSR standar.


ABSTRACT

MANET Mobile Ad-hoc Network consists of mobile nodes communicating through wireless medium without any fixed network infrastructure. In these models congestion occurs in any intermediate node when packet data transmission performed from source to destination and causes packet loss thereby impacting network performance decreases. OLSR Optimized Link State Routing is a proactive routing protocol in MANET. In OLSR there is a process of MPR Multi Point Relay selection to build transmission route from source to destination. MPR selection is a process to select a node as MPR in OLSR. Network congestion can occur because the number of packet arrived exceeds nodes buffer capacity. It causes degradation of network performance such as lower throughput packet loss and e2e delay becomes higher. This study purposes a congestion detection method for MPR selection in OLSR to build route transmissions from source to destination with lower level congestion. The sistem is called CD-OLSR Congestion Detection Optimized Link State Routing. This research is implemented in Network Simulator version 2 NS-2. There are three scenarios are used to measure CD-OLSR performance. The first is variation of end-to-end e2e connections with value 10 20 30 40 and 50 e2e connections. The second is variation of CBR Constant Bit rate loads with value 4 6 8 10 12 14 and 16packets. The third is variation of speed of node mobility with value 10 20 30 40 and 50ms. The experiments results show that PDR average of CD-OLSR is higher than OLSR i.e. 1405 in scenario 1 1702 in scenario 2 and 483 in scenario 3. E2e delay average of OLSR is lower than CD-OLSR i.e. 059s in scenario 1 140s in scenario 2 and 124s in scenario 3. Throughput average of CD-OLSR is higher than OLSR i.e. 1060kbps in scenario 1 2157kbps in scenario 2 and 590kbps in scenario 3. It can be concluded that congestion detection method for selecting node as MPR can improve performance of OLSR protocol.
