Kemampuan Bahasa Inggris merupakan keahlian penting yang perlu dikuasai masyarakat guna menghadapi era globalisasi yang telah berlangsung. Tuntutan untuk dapat Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu aspek yang perlu dikuasai mahasiswa. Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui relasi antara berbagai pengukuran pendidikan saat SMA hingga masuk perguruan tinggi yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan apa saja yang dapat membentuk kemampuan Bahasa Inggris yaitu nilai rapor pada semester satu hingga semester lima nilai UNAS Bahasa Inggris skor TOEFL Listening Grammar dan Reading skor TPA nilai IPS. Metode statistik yang digunakan meliputi analisis faktor analisis cluster analisis diskriminan dan analisis biplot. Mahasiswa baru ITS memiliki kemampuan Bahasa Inggris yang menonjol pada bagian Reading ini tergambar dari bar chart yang menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata mahasiswa baru unggul pada bagian Reading di seluruh fakultas yang ada di ITS. Hasil pengelompokan terdapat 4 kelompok yang terbentuk seluruh variabel menjadi variabel pembeda dengan ketepatan fungsi pengelompokan 798. Pemetaan menunjukkan pada cluster 1 Jurusan Manajemen Bisnis memiliki kemampuan Listening Grammar dan Reading yang sangat lemah. Pada cluster 2 menunjukkan jurusan yang lemah kemampuannya pada Listening Grammar dan Reading didominasi oleh FMIPA yang tertinggi didominasi oleh FTI. Pada cluster 3 menunjukkan Jurusan Teknik Multimedia dan Jaringan memiliki kemampuan yang rendah pada Listening Grammar dan Reading. Pada cluster 4 menunjukkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris Listening Grammar dan Reading yang rendah didominasi oleh FMIPA dan yang tertinggi didominasi oleh FTI. Seluruh variabel yang digunakan merupakan variabel pembeda pada setiap cluster.


English Ability is an important skill that needs to be controlled by the people in order to face globalization era which has lasted. Demands to be English is one aspect that needs to be controlled by a student. This study investigates the relationships among the various measurements of current educational Senior High School to go to college which is used to describe anything that may form the English Ability which grades up to half of the fifth semester UNAS English TOEFL Listening Grammar and Reading score TPA the value of IPS. Statistical methods used include factor analysis cluster analysis discriminant analysis and biplot analysis. ITS new students have English skills that stand in the Reading section is illustrated by the bar chart which shows that the average new students excel in Reading throughout the faculty in ITS. Results of grouping there are 4 groups formed all variables become variables differentiator with 79.8 accuracy grouping function.This method used statistics include factor analysis cluster analysis discriminant analysis and biplot analysis. Mapping shows the cluster 1 Department of Business Management has the ability Listening Grammar and Reading are very weak. Cluster 2 showed a weak ability majors in Listening Grammar and Reading is dominated by the highest FMIPA dominated by FTI. Cluster 3 shows the Department of Multimedia and Network poor ability in Listening Grammar and Reading. Cluster 4 shows the ability of English Listening Grammar and Reading were low and dominated by the highest FMIPA dominated by FTI. All variables used is a distinguishing variable in each cluster.
