ABSTRAK

Variable Ballast System merupakan suatu komponen yang diaplikasikan pada kapal selam tanpa awak AUV dengan tujuan untuk menjaga kesetimbangan dan mengubah massa jenis AUV. Dalam perkembanganya VBS telah dimodifikasi sehingga mampu memenuhi kebutuhan AUV pada umumnya dan juga membantu maneuver ketika bergerak didalam air. Dalam pembuatan Tugas akhir ini akan direncanakan Variable Ballast System dengan metode pergeseran pusat berat yaitu mampu menggeser pusat berat AUV sehingga mampu berotasi terhadap sumbu putar x pitching. Hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan menempatkan dua tangki ballast yang letaknya berada didepan forward dan belakang aft. Untuk menjaga keamanan struktur tangki disimulasikan menggunakan Metode Elemen Hingga sehingga mendapatkan tekanan sebesar 10 bar. Tekanan maksimal tersebut digunakan untuk menentukan spesifikasi pompa dan motor yang akan dipakai. Untuk mentransfer daya motor ke pompa dipakai sistim transmisi roda gigi. kriteria poros motor penggerak ditentukan berdasarkan besarnya momen bending dan puntir yang terjadi pada poros sehingga didapat diameter minimal poros penggerak adalah 24 mm .


ABSTRACT

Variable Ballast System is a component applied in Autonomous Underwater Vehicle AUV. In general VBS is only used to add a mass of type AUV so that it can be floating in the water. In the developing of VBS it has been modified can fulfill AUV in general and also helps maneuver as it moves in water. In the making of this task will be planned variable ballast system with shifting the Center of Gravity method which is able to shift the center of gravity is so capable of rotating AUV axis rotate x pitching. This can be done by placing the ballast tank in front of the forward and rear aft. To maintance security the structure of the tank simulated using Finite Elemen Method so that it gets the maximum pressure that allowed the ballast tank is 10 bar. The maximum pressure used to determine the specifications of the pump and the rotor that will be used. To transfer motor power into the pump it used gear transmission system. Criteria of the motor shaft drive is determined based on the magnitude of moment of bending and torque that occurs on the shaft so that the diameter of the driving shaft minimum is 24 mm.
