RECALCULATING AND SELECTION OF SEA WATER BOOSTER PUMP AT COOLING WATER SYSTEM PLTGU BLOCK III PT. PJB UNIT PEMBANGKITAN GRESIK

ABSTRAK

PT. PJB Unit Pembangkitan Gresik merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri pembangkitan listrik. Mengingat sangat pentingnya peralatan pompa yang digunakan untuk melayani sistem air pendingin PLTGU maka kami tertarik untuk mempelajari Pompa Sea Water Booster dimana peranan pompa ini yang cukup penting dalam Sistem Air Pendingin untuk peralatan produksi PLTGU. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besar head dan kapasitas yang dibutuhkan oleh pompa sea water booster. Selain melakukan perhitungan teoritis juga dilakukan perhitungan secara numerik dengan menggunakan software Pipe Flow Expert v5.12 Setelah melakukan perhitungan ulang intalasi perpipaan pompa sea water booster dengan tujuan menentukan pemilihan pompa yang sesuai untuk instalasi sistem air pendingin tersebut. Maka pada perhitungan didapat nilai kapasitas untuk memenuhi kebutuhan Cooling Water Heat Exchanger sebesar h m3 5100 dengan Heff sebesar 11.18 m dan NPSHA sebesar 6.83 m. Perhitungan tersebut dipilih pompa jenis horizontal sentrifugal tipe double suction dengan merk TORISHIMA PUMPS.


ABSTRACT

PT. PJB Unit Pembangkitan Gresik is a company engaged in the insdutrial power plant The company activity is producing electricity for daily and industrial needs. Given the importance of pumps equipment used to serve in the cooling system so in this final project the writer are interested in discuss about the Sea Water Booster Pump. Where the role of this pump is quite important for Cooling Water System. The aim of this observation to know the head and pump capacity required by the sea water booster pump. In addition to theoritical calculations also performed numerical calculations using Pipe Flow Expert v5.12 software. After get the recalculating the installation of piping sea water booster pump with the purpose to fix selection of pumps that suitable for cooling water system istalalation. In calculation of the value obtained planning capacity of the Cooling Water Heat Exchanger needs is h m3 5100 for the Heff at 11.18 m and NPSHA of 6.83 m and from the calculation the selected pumps is horizontal centrifugal pump and types of pumps is double suction with merk of pump is TORISHIMA PUMPS.
