ANALYSIS COMPETENT OF LUBRICANT OIL SAE 10W-30 FOR MOTOR CYCLE 4STROKE BASED ON VISCOSITY WITH FALLING BALL VISCOMETER METHOD

ABSTRAK

Pada umumnya untuk menentukan minyak pelumas sudah waktunya diganti atau belum masih berpedoman pada jarak tempuh km untuk kendaraan bermotor. Salah satu cara untuk menentukan minyak pelumas sudah waktunya diganti atau belum dapat diukur dengan mengukur viskositasnya agar kelayakan-pakai minyak pelumas dapat diketahui. Syarat kelayakan-pakai minyak pelumas yaitu viskositas berkurang tidak lebih dari 50 dari viskositas minyak pelumas baru. Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan analisis kelayakan-pakai minyak pelumas SAE 10W 30 pada sepeda motor Honda City Sport 1 berdasarkan viskositasnya. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan pengujian viskositas minyak pelumas menggunakan metode viskometer bola jatuh. Variasi jarak tempuh adalah 0 km 2000 km 2250 km 2500 km 2750 km 2900 km 3000 km3050 km dan 3100 km dengan temperatur pengujian pada 400 C dan 1000 C. Pengujian dengan cara suatu bola yang berupa kelereng dilepaskan dari atas tabung secara vertikal yang berisi minyak pelumas yang dicari viskositasnya. Kemudian dicari waktu t yang diperlukan oleh suatu bola jatuh dari atas tabung dengan panjang lintasan yang telah ditentukan. Selanjutnya berdasarkan data tersebut nilai viskositasnya dapat dihitung. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa Semakin lama minyak pelumas dipakai yang dibuktikan dengan jarak tempuh maka nilai viskositasnya akan semakin turun. Pada jarak tempuh 0 km nilai viskositas sebesar 77.2 cP pada suhu 40 C dan pada jarak tempuh 3100 km nilai viskositas turun menjadi 36.07 cP pada suhu 40 C dan kelayakan pakai minyak pelumas SAE 10W 30 pada sepeda motor Honda City Sport 1 adalah 3050km.


ABSTRACT

In general to determine the lubricants time to be replaced or not is still based on mileage km for motor vehicles.One way to determine the lubricants time to be replaced or not can be measured by measuring its viscosity so that feasibility of using the lubricating oil can be known. The rule feasibility of lubricant oil is the viscosity breakdown not drop under 50 from fresh oil viscosity. In this final project conducted analyzes the feasibility of using the lubricating oil SAE 10W 30 on a motorcycle Honda City Sport 1based on this viscosity. This final project use an experiment of viscosity with falling ball viscometer method. With distance variation is 0 km 2000 km 2250 km2500 km 2750 km 2900 km3000 km 3050 km 3100 km with temprature 400C and 1000C. The method where a ball is released in the form of marbles vertically from the top tube that contains a searchable viscosity lubricating oil. Then look for time t required by ball falling from the top tube with a predetermined path length. Then calculate the value of the coefficient viscosity.The result of these test showed that the more use of lubricating oil that evidenced by distance will be decrease the value of viscosity. At 0 km viscosity is 77.2 cP in 40 C and At 3100 km viscosity is 36.07cP in 40 C and the feasibility of using the lubricating oil SAE 10W 30 at motorcycle 4-Stroke based on the viscosity with a falling ball viscometer until the milleage of 3050 km.
