DESIGN OF TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM TO MIXING UNIT ON MINI BIODIESEL PROCESS PLANT IN INSTRUMENTATION WORKSHOP

ABSTRAK
Pada sistem pengendalian temperatur ini merupakan
suatu rancangan sistem yang mampu mengendalikan
temperatur pada miniplant biodiesel process khususnya pada
tangki pencampuran minyak dan larutan metoxida yang terdiri
dari methanol CH3OH dan katalis KOH. Plan pengendalian
temperatur ini menggunakan sistem pengendalian bermode onoff
dan menggunakan LM35 sebagai sensor suhu
microcontroller sebagai controller LCD yang berfungsi untuk
menampilkan data dan dua aktuator yaitu heater dan solenoid
valve. Cara kerja dari plan pengendalian ini yaitu sensor LM35
akan mendeteksi perubahan suhu pada tangki pencampuran
kemudian diolah oleh microcontroller sehingga perubahan
suhu dapat ditampilkan melalui LCD. Pada tangki ini suhu
ideal pencampuran minyak dan metoxida adalah 55-65C
maka data yang diambil juga berbeda dengan set point yaitu 55
C 60C 65C. Pada hasil pengujian dapat terlihat bahwa
semakin cepat waktu untuk mencapai set point semakin cepat
bereaksi pada proses pencampuran minyak dan metoxida.
Untuk perhitungan akurasi sistem didapatkan bahwa sistem
pengendalian temperatur tangki pencampuran mempunyai
akurasi sebesar 98 .
ABSTRACT
The temperature control system is a system than can
control the temperature of biodiesel miniplant process
especially in the mixing tank of oil and metoxide that consist of
methanol CH3OH and catalyst KOH. The temperature
control system are used on-off control mode with LM35 as
temperature sensormicrocontroller as controllerLCD as
displayed of dataand used two kinds of actuator solenoid
valve and heater. The work principle of the control plant is
beginning from temperature sensor. The temperature is
change of mixing tank would detected by LM35 temperature
sensor. Thenthe information that getting by this sensor will be
processed by micocontroller. The last the display of
temperature is change is appearance in LCD. At tis tankthe
ideal temperature for mixed the oil and metoxide is about 55
C- 65 C then data are taken is also different from set point is
55 C 60 C 65 C. The result of system axamination can be
seen that the time faster to get the set point means that the
reaction is faster on the mixing oil and metoxide process.
Then the calculation result of accuration system is 98 percent.
