Pada umumnya mesin penggulung tali rafia untuk ukuran 5 ons kebawah yang ada di industri kecil saat ini masih menggunakan proses manual yang dimana pengguna harus menggunakan insting dan kebiasaan dalam proses menggulung maupun ketepatan ukuran gulungan tali rafia. Selain itu, mesin penggulung tali rafia yang ada saat ini masih belum dilengkapi oleh motor listrik sehingga operator harus bersusah payah untuk menggerakkan mesin dengan tangannya. Oleh karena itu mesin penggulung tali rafia untuk ukuran 5 ons kebawah harus dikembangkan. Sebelum melakukan persiapan material yang dibutuhkan dalam membuat mesin, dilakukan perhitungan terlebih dahulu untuk menentukan besarnya daya motor yang diperlukan serta elemen mekanik (torsi, pulley, belt, gaya, dll.) hingga selesai. Dari perencanaan ini didapatkan daya motor untuk mesin ini sebesar 0,25 HP dengan kecepatan putar 1400 rpm, belt yang digunakan type A, bahan poros yang dipakai ST 60 dengan diameter 25 mm, menggunakan 5 buah pulley type A dengan 1 lajur dan 1 buah pulley type A dengan 2 lajur.

In general, rope winding machine for the size of 5 ounces of down in the small industries currently use a manual process where users had to use instincts and habits in the process of rolling and precision of the size of coil rope. In addition, the raffia roller machine that exist today are not equipped by an electric motor so that the operator must take pains to move the machine by hand. Therefore, machine rollers rope down to the size of 5 ounces should be developed. Before the preparation of material required in making the machine, do the calculation beforehand to determine the magnitude of the necessary motor power and mechanical elements (torsion, pulley, belt, style, etc..) until complete. From the planning of motor power is obtained for this machine at 0.25 HP at 1400 rpm rotational speed, belt used in type A, the material used ST shaft 60 with a diameter of 25 mm, using 5 pulley type A with 1 row and 1 Pulley type A with 2 lanes.
