Telah dilakukan perancangan dan pembuatan sensor suhu menggunakan serat optik plastik atau Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) untuk pengukuran suhu air dengan range 300C sampai 950C. Diberikan perlakuan bending (lekukan) dengan diameter 5 cm, diameter 4 cm, diameter 3 cm, diameter 2 cm, dan diameter 1 cm, untuk mengetahui hasil yang terbaik untuk dijadikan sebagai sensor suhu. Dengan menggunakan LED sebagai sumber cahaya dan phototransistor sebagai detektor. Nilai resistansi yang merupakan hasil keluaran dari phototransistor diubah menjadi tegangan oleh rangkaian pembagi tegangan. Maka akan didapat data hubungan suhu air dengan tegangan keluaran dari phototransistor. Hasil yang terbaik adalah pada diameter 1 cm dengan nilai sensitivitas yang besar yaitu 0,008 V/0C pada suhu naik dan 0,006 V/0C pada suhu turun, memiliki fungsi transfer y = -0,005x + 2,706 pada suhu naik dan y = -0,005x + 2,661 pada suhu turun, memiliki koefisien korelasi sebesar Rē = 0,973 pada suhu naik dan Rē = 0,985 pada suhu turun, serta memiliki nilai hysteresis yang kecil yaitu 23,68%.

Has done the design and manufacture of fiber optic temperature sensor using Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) for measurements of water temperature in the range of 300C to 950C. Treatment is given bending (curvature) with a diameter of 5 cm, diameter 4 cm, diameter 3 cm, diameter 2 cm and 1 cm in diameter, to find the best results to be used as temperature sensors. By using LEDs as light sources and phototransistor as the detector. Resistance value which is the output of the phototransistor is converted into a voltage by the voltage divider circuit. Then it will get a data connection with a water temperature of the output voltage of the phototransistor. The best result is the diameter of 1 cm with a sensitivity value of 0.008 and 0.006 V/0C V/0C temperature increases the temperature drops, has a transfer function y = -0.005 x + 2.706 on the rise in temperature and y = -0.005 x + 2.661 in the temperature drops, has a correlation coefficient Rē = 0.973 at the temperature rise and Rē = 0,985 in low temperature, as well as having a value of stickiness small is 23,68%.
