Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dewasa ini cukup pesat, baik dibidang material logam dan bukan logam. Selama ini keberadaan material logam mendominasi dalam bidang industri. Namun masih belum terpenuhi material yang mempunyai sifat tertentu dalam aplikasi di industri maka dikembangkan material bukan logam yaitu material komposit. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bubble glass terhadap sifat mekanik pada pengujian tarik. Campuran komposit yang digunakan adalah resin jenis polyester, bubble glass yang mempunyai sifat peringan dengan takaran 20% dari berat total, chopped strand mat dan woven roving. Proses pembuatan komposit dengan stándar ASTM D 638. Hasil dari penilitian ini adalah bubble glass memberikan pengaruh terhadap sifat mekanik pada pengujian tarik. Berat murni resin 170 gr, resin + bubble glass 110 gr, resin + bubble glass + chopped strand mat 112 gr, resin + bubble glass + woven roving 110 gr. Selain itu Kekuatan tarik yang paling besar dimiliki komposit resin + bubble glass (27,77 MPa), keuletan terbesar dimiliki resin + bubble glass + woven roving (2,77 %), dan modulus elastisitas paling besar dimiliki resin + bubble glass (6425,93 MPa).

Development of science and technology today is quite rapidly, both in the field of metallic and nonmetallic materials. So far, the presence of metal materials in the fields of industry dominate. But there is still unmet material that has certain properties in industrial applications in the developed material is a composite material instead of metal. The research was conducted to determine the effect on the mechanical properties of glass bubble on the tensile testing. Composite mixture used is a type of polyester resin, glass bubble which has a mild nature with 20% of the total weight, chopped strand mat and woven roving. The process of making composites with standard ASTM D 638. The results of this study is the glass bubble influence on mechanical properties in tensile testing. Weight 170 gr of pure resin, the resin 110 g + bubble glass, bubble glass + resin + 112 g of chopped strand mat, resin + + bubble glass woven rovings 110 gr. In addition the greatest tensile strength of composite resins have glass bubble + (27.77 MPa), ductility has the largest resin + glass + bubble woven rovings (2.77%), and modulus of elasticity of the resin + owned most of the bubble glass (6425, 93 MPa).
