Pengurangan koefisien tahanan (drag coeffsient) pada suatu kendaraan merupakan salah satu cara yang efektif untuk menghemat penggunaan bahan bakar. Pada tugas akhir ini gaya aerodinamik pada kendaraan jenis smart car dievaluasi. Evaluasi tersebut dilakukan dengan modifikasi bagian leading edge dari kendaraan. Parameter yang dibahas adalah kecepatan dan tekanan aliran udara disekitar bodi Smart car.Parameter tersebut digunakan untuk mengetahui nilai koefisien tahanan. Tujuan tugas akhir ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik aliran kendaraan bermotor roda empat jenis smart car. Pengujian dilakukan melalui pemodelan numerik dengan menggunakan software fluent 6.3.26 secara dua dimensi.Karakteristik aliran dinyatakan dalam grafik disribusi Cp dan distribusi kecepatan disekitar bodi. Dari hasil pengujian terlihat bahwa nilai Cp pada analisa dua dimensi berbeda, ini terlihat dari grafik distribusi Cp. Perbedaan juga terdapat pada nilai Cd, pada masing-masing kendaraan, nilai Cd pada mobil smart car yang di modifikasi lebih kecil dibandingkan mobil smart car standart.

Reduction of coefficient resistance (drag coeffsient) on a vehicle is one effective way to conserve fuel. In this final aerodynamic forces on the vehicle type smart car evaluated. The evaluation is done by modifying the leading edge of the vehicle. The parameters discussed are the velocity and pressure of the air flow around the Smart car body. Parameter is used to determine the value of the coefficient of resistance. The purpose of this final task to determine the flow characteristics of fourwheeled motor vehicles Smart car types. Testing is done through numerical modeling using Fluent software 6.3.26 in two dimensions. Flow characteristics are expressed in graphs disribution Cp and velocity distribution around the body. From the test results shows that the value of Cp on the analysis of two different dimensions, can be seen from the graph the distribution of Cp. Differences are also found on the Cd, on each vehicle, the value of Cd in the car modified smart car that is smaller than the standard car smart car.
