[ Description ]

Bioetanol adalah etanol yang dibuat dari bahan baku biomassa yang mengandung glukosa atau lignoselulosa, salah bahan tersebut adalah sekam padi. Pabrik bioetanol ini menggunakan pretreatment dilute acid dan proses SFF (Simultaneous Sacharification and Fermentation) yang mempunyai kapasitas 415.000 ton/tahun. Lokasi pendirian pabrik di Indramayu, Jawa Barat dipilih berdasarkan ketersediaan bahan baku, air dan kemudahan transportasi. Proses pembuatan bioetanol ini tediri dari empat tahap, yaitu tahap pretreatment, hidrolidis, fermentasi dan purifikasi. Pada tahap pretreatment sekam padi dicampur dengan air hangat agar menjadi slurry dan dipanaskan dengan steam secara direct. Pada tahap hidrolisis, hemiselulosa yang terkandung dalam bahan dihidrolisis dengan mengalirkan saturated steam bertekanan 13 bar dengan suhu 192 0C, selanjutnya dimasukkan dilute sulfuric acid hingga konsentrasi asam sulfat dalam reaktor sekitar 1,1% selama 10 menit. Pada tahap fermentasi, selulosa dihidrolisis oleh enzim selulosa menjadi glukosa, kemudian difermentasi oleh bakteri saccharomyces cereviceae recombinant menjadi etanol. Pada tahap purifikasi, etanol hasil fermentasi dimurnikan dengan proses distilasi dan dehidrasi sehingga didapatkan etanol dengan kemurnian 99,5%. Pabrik bioetanol ini direncanakan beroperasi secara semi kontinyu selama 24 jam/hari dengan masa kerja 330 hari/tahun. Sekam padi yang dibutuhkan sebesar 4.779.734,05 kg/hari dengan bahan baku pendukung yaitu asam sulfat, kalsium hidroksida, asam phospat dan ammonium sulfat. Kebutuhan utilitasnya adalah air sanitasi, air pendingin, air umpan boiller, air proses, air make up dan air cadangan yaitu masing-masing sebesar 48 m3/hari, 382.269 m3/hari, 11.697 m3/hari, 27.822 m3/hari, 2.349,365 m3/hari dan 2.749,365 m3/hari.

Bioethanol is ethanol made from biomass feedstocks that contain glucose or lignocellulose, one of which is rice husk. Bioethanol plant uses dilute acid pretreatment and SFF (Sacharification simultaneous and fermentation) process, which has a capacity of 415,000 tons / year. The location of the new plant in Indramayu, West Java was chosen on the basis of the availability of raw materials, water and the ease of transportation. Production process of bioethanol consists of four stages, namely: stage of pre-treatment, hidrolidis, fermentation and purification. In the pretreatment stage of rice husk is mixed with warm water and slurry must be heated with a direct steam. At this stage of hydrolysis, hemicellulose contained in the shell of rice hydrolyzed by the pressure of flow of saturated steam 13 bar, with a temperature of 192 0C, then heated in the reactor includes dilute sulfuric acid until the concentration of acid sulfuric in the reactor of 1.1% for 10 minutes. At this stage of fermentation, cellulose is hydrolyzed by the enzyme cellulose into glucose and then fermented by Saccharomyces cereviceae recombinant into ethanol, this process occurs at the same time/simultaneously. At this stage of purification, fermentation ethanol purified by distillation and dehydration process so we get the ethanol with a purity of 99.5%. Bioethanol factory is planned to operate semi-continuously for 24 hours a day; which is 330 days / year is required for the rice husk 4,779,734.05 kg / day with the supporters of the raw materials, sulfuric acid, sulfuric acid and ammonium phosphate and calcium hydroxide. Water sanitation utility requirement is for 48 m3/day, boiler feedwater for 11.697 m3/day, cooling water for 382.269 m3/day, 27.822 m3/day of process water, makeup water for 2.349,365 m3/day and 2.749,365 m3/day for water reserves.
