ANALYSIS OF GRAVING DOCK DEPLETION TIME BASED ON ROTATION CASE STUDY IN PT. BEN SANTOSA SURABAYA

ABSTRAK

Pompa merupakan mesin konversi energi dari bentuk kalor panas bahan bakar atau listrik menjadi energi kinetik atau potensial. PT. Ben Santosa yang bergerak di bidang perawatan dan perbaikan kapal pompa digunakan untuk mengosongkan graving dock. Pengosongan ini mengoperasikan empat buah pompa yang bekerja secara paralel dan digerakkan dengan dua buah mesin diesel menggunakan sistem transmisi V belt. Penggunaan pompa ini dirasa kurang efektif terhadap waktu karena pengosongan dok memerlukan waktu lebih dari 8 delapan jam. Pemborosan waktu tersebut dapat dikurangi dengan peningkatan waktu pengosongan graving dock yang lebih efektif. Peningkatan waktu tersebut sejalan dengan meningkatnya debit melalui pengendalian putaran sistem transmisi rotor pompa. Perhitungan yang digunakan berdasarkan spesifikasi teknis dan existing condition. Spesifikasi teknis yang diketahui adalah putaran pompa maksimum 1450rpm putaran mesin diesel 3000rpm. Debit pompa 450m3jam daya pompa 185KW sedangkan head pompa 10m. Hasil perhitungan terhadap kasus yang ada selama pengoperasian pompa pada graving dock menggambarkan peningkatan waktu pengosongan dapat dilakukan dengan modifikasi. Modifikasi dilakukan pada puli motor dan puli pompa masing-masing berdiameter 205mm dan 225mm. Peningkatan debit telah dicapai lebih tinggi 08m3dt dari existing condition sehingga waktu pengosongan dok menjadi 695jam. Peningkatan waktu tersebut telah mencapai 32 dari waktu existing condition 1023jam.


ABSTRACT

The pump is a energy conversion machine from heat of fuel or electricity into kinetic or potential energy. PT. Ben Santosa engaged in maintenance and repair of boat pump are used for emptying the graving dock. Discharging operates four pumps working in parallel and driven by two diesel engine use a V belt transmission system. Use of this pump is less effective with time because the emptying of the dock takes more than 8 eight hours. Waste of time can be reduced with increased time emptying the graving dock is more effective. Increased time in line with rising discharge through the control of rotation transmission system rotor pump. The calculations were used based on technical specifications and existing condition. Technical specifications are known is 1450rpm maximum pump rotation diesel engine speed 3000rpm. Discharge pump 450m3hr pump power 18.5KW while the pump head of 10m. The results calculation about case for the operation of the graving dock pumps reflects increased emptying time can be done with modifications. Modifications performed on the motor pulley and pump pulleys each of diameter 205mm and 225mm. Increased discharge has been achieved is higher 0.8m3s of the existing condition so that the dock be emptying time 6.95hours. Increasing the time has reached 32 of the existing condition of time 1023hours.
