IDENTICATION PERFORMANCE HEAT EXCHANGER ON COOLING SYSTEM AUXILLIARY ENGINE NUMBER 2 ON KM. SINAR ARROW SHIP

ABSTRAK
KM. Sinar Arrow adalah salah satu kapal barang milik PT. Salam Pasific Indonesia Lines PT. SPIL. Kapal ini digunakan untuk mengantar barang muatan dari suatu tempat ke tempat yang lainya dengan menggunakan teknologi kapal sebagai alat transportasi. Kapal ini menggunakan mesin diesel sebagai motor bantu dan dibuat oleh perusahaan M.A.N dengan daya sebesar 304 kW dilengkapi dengan sistem pendinginan water jacket terintegrasi dengan sistem Heat Exchanger HE yang memanfaatkan air laut sebagai pendingin. HE yang
digunakan pada sistem kapal ini adalah jenis shell and tube dan sudah beroperasi sejak tahun 1980. HE jenis ini menerapkan aliran counter flow untuk memaksimalkan kalor yang dipindahkan dengan asumsi perbedaan temperatur konstan. Pemanfaatan air laut sebagai pendingin pada teknologi HE ini diharapkan dapat mengkondisikan air tawar untuk sistem water jacket pada temperatur optimal.
Sistem water jacket pada mesin tersebut dilengkapi dengan thermostat yang bekerja pada temperatur 800C atau lebih. Air tawar pada water jacket saat kondisi temperatur 800C atau lebih akan masuk ke dalam HE. Teknologi HE ini diharapkan mampu bekerja untuk mengkondisikan temperatur air tawar mendekati kondisi semula sebelum masuk ke water
jacket dengan memanfaatkan air laut sebagai fluida kerja. Berdasarkan pengamatan operasional mesin kapal temperatur air tawar keluar HE pada kondisi putaran konstan 1700rpm rata-rata mencapai 6490C laju perpindahan kalor yang dilepas air tawar rata-rata 9772 kJs dan laju perpindahan kalor yang diterima air laut rata-rata 9772 kJs putaran mesin diesel kondisi konstan 1700rpm efektifitas yang terjadi
pada HE rata-rata mencapai 329 dan efisiensi thermal HE 953.
ABSTRACT
KM. Sinar Arrow is one of the cargo plane owned by PT. Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines SPIL PT.. This ship used to transport cargo from one place to another using technology as a means of transport ships. These vessels use diesel engines as a tool to drive and manufactured by MAN companies with the power of 304 kW equipped with jacket water cooling system is integrated with the Heat Exchanger HE which uses seawater as a coolant. HE used to send this system is the type of shell and tube and has been operating since 1980. HE apply the type of counter flow to maximize the flow of heat transferred to the assumption of a constant temperature difference. Utilization of seawater as a coolant in HE
technology is expected to be conditioned fresh water for the jacket water system at optimum
temperature. Engine jacket water system is equipped with a thermostat that works at a temperature
of 800C or more. Fresh water in the water jacket when the temperature is 800C or more will go into HE. HE technology is expected to work with fresh water temperature conditions close to its original state before entering the water jacket by utilizing sea water as the working fluid. Based on observations of ship engines operating the temperature of fresh water out of the HE at a constant 1700rpm spin state average of 64.90C the rate of heat transfer of freshwater released an average of 977.2 kJ s and an acceptable level of heat transfer rate of water Average sea 977.2 kJ s rotation of diesel engine effectiveness conditions that occur at a constant 1700rpm average of 32.9 and HER SHE 95.3 thermal efficiency.
