ABSTRAK
Kapal KMP NIAGA FERRY II adalah kapal milik PT. INDONESIA
FERRY yang dibeli dari PT. ASDP. Kapal tersebut sebenarnya sudah melewati
masa dinasnya dan kondisi sistem propulsinya dinilai sudah tidak layak untuk
beroperasi lagi. Namun karena alasan ekonomis dan konstruksi badan kapal
dinilai masih layak pakai maka dilakukan perubahan modifikasi pada sistem
propulsinya sehingga diharapkan mampu berlayar lagi.
Pada awalnya KMP NIAGA FERRY II ini menggunakan sistem propulsi
Z - peller tipe schottle yang digerakkan dengan dua mesin induk depan belakang
merk DEUTZ tipe 4 stroke MWM TBD 234 V08 dengan kecepatan maksimum
8 knot. Kapal ini dirancang mampu berjalan dengan kecepatan dinas sekitar 12
knot dan digunakan untuk keperluan penyeberangan dari Ketapang ke Gilimanuk
Bali. Rencana perubahan sistem propulsi yang digunakan adalah dengan sistem
propulsi twin screw yang digerakkan dengan dua mesin induk merk YANMAR
8S900 8 silinder dengan daya 662 kW.
Dari perhitungan perubahan sistem propulsi didapatkan besarnya daya
kapal yang dihasilkan sebelum repowering adalah sebesar 36897 kW atau 50166
HP sedangkan besarnya daya kapal setelah repowering adalah sebesar 123063
kW atau 167319 HP dengan efisiensi propulsif yang sama besar yaitu 70.

KMP NIAGA FERRY II is a ship owned by PT. INDONESIA FERRY
purchased from PT. ASDP. The ship had in fact passed and the conditions of his
service propulsion system is considered to be unfit to operate again. However
due to economic reasons and assessed the hull construction is still suitable to be
used then made changes so that modifications to the system propulsion expected
to sail again.
Initially KMP NIAGA FERRY II use a propulsion system Z - peller type
schottle driven by two main engines foward and after brands DEUTZ type 4
stroke MWM TBD 234 V08 with a maximum speed of 8 knots. This ship is
designed capable of traveling at speeds around 12 knots and services used for the
crossing from Ketapang to Gilimanuk Bali. Plan changes propulsion system used
is a twin screw propulsion system driven by two main engine YANMAR brand
8S900 8-cylinder with 662 kW power.
From the calculation of changes in the amount of resources available
propulsion system produced before repowering the vessel amounted to 368.97
501.66 kW or HP while the size of the ship after repowering is for 1230.63 kW or
1673.19 HP with an efficiency equal propulsif of 70 .
