MODEL KESEIMBANGAN MASSA BEBAN NITROGEN PADA ALIRAN SUNGAI AKIBAT PEMUPUKAN DI DAERAH PERKEBUNAN NITROGEN LOAD MASS BALANCE MODEL AT THE STREAM IMPACT FROM FERTILIZATION ON THE PLANTATION REGION

ABSTRAK

Pemupukan nitrogen bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan lahan pertanian namun ternyata sebagian besar penambahan nitrogen menimbulkan lepasnya nitrat. Kontaminasi nitrat pada air sungai dapat mengakibatkan air sungai menjadi kekurangan oksigen hypoxic sehingga dapat menekan kehidupan biota air sungai di daerah hilir. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di sungai Rembangan Jember yang berada di daerah perkebunan kopi PTPN XII Afdeling Renteng Desa Rayap Kecamatan Arjasa Kabupaten Jember. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk 1 mengidentifikasi karakteristik jenis polutan di wilayah perkebunan kopi mengetahui pola penyebaran polutan di sungai dan mengetahui pola beban polutan nitrogen di sungai pada musim kemarau dan musim penghujan. 2 membangun struktur model keseimbangan massa untuk memprediksi beban polutan yang masuk ke sungai. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menguji kualitas air sungai untuk sebagai data primer dan menggunakan data sekunder dari instansi perkebunan. Penyusunan model dilakukan dengan menggabungkan model hidrologi dan model kualitas air menggunakan persamaan keseimbangan massa Plug Flow System dengan pendekatan persamaan Streeter-Phelps. Persamaan ini diselesaikan dengan menggunakan pemodelan matematika metode beda hingga dengan pembaganan Leapfrog. Hasil dari pemodelan ini adalah nilai konsentrasi nitrat sebesar 0.6607 mgliter pada musim kemarau dan sebesar 0.8411 mgliter pada musim penghujan dengan keseimbangan massa Plug Flow System rata-rata sebesar 118.2803 mgdetik pada musim kemarau dan sebesar 150.5568 mgdetik pada musim penghujan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa kontribusi beban nitrogen tidak hanya berasal dari pemupukan tetapi juga dari oksidasi air secara alami. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model keseimbangan massa nitrogen ini dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi beban polutan nitrogen yang masuk ke dalam sungai dengan kondisi aliran laminer dan dengan rentang nilai koefisien limpasan rata-rata bulanan Cb antara 011 - 018 koefisien reaksi K antara 3.8 x 10-6 to 4.3 x 10-6 dan koefisien koreksi r antara 111 - 208. ABSTRACT

Aims the nitrogen fertilizer is to optimize crop yield but addition of nitrogen can cause to nitrate loss. Nitrate derived from nitrogen that can loss by groundwater. Contamination of nitrate into the river water can caused it was very deprived of oxygen hypoxic and can suppress aquatic life in the downstream. Aims this study was to 1 identified the characteristics of the pollutants types in the coffee plantations area determined the pattern of the pollutants spread in the river dan determined the pattern of nitrogen pollutant load in the river during the dry season and the rainy season. 2 built the structure of the mass balance models to predict pollutant loads in to the river. This study does with take sample from river water of Rembangan river that in a place of the coffee plantations of PTPN XII section Renteng of Rayap Village subdistrict Arjasa of Jember Regency as primer data and used secondary data from plantation instance. To built of model used combination of hidrology model and water quality model using the Plug Flow System mass balance equation with the Streeter-Phelps equation approach. This equation was solved by finite difference method of mathematical modeling with Leapfrog design. Results of this model was the value of nitrate concentration of 0.6607 mg litre in the dry season and at 0.8411 mg litre in the rainy season with the Plug Flow System mass balance average of 118.2803 mg sec during the dry season and at 150.5568 mg sec on the rainy season. Based on the calculations analysis of nitrogen mass balance was known that the greatest contribution of nitrogen loads into the river water flow in the study area was from fertilizer and oxidation water river. Conclution this study was the nitrogen mass balance models can be used to predict nitrogen pollutant load that into the Rembangan river with laminar flow conditions and the range of the average monthly runoff Cb coefficient was between 0.11 to 0.18 the coefficient of the reaction K between 3.8 x 10-6 to 4.3 x 10-6 and correction coefficients r between 111-208.
