ABSTRAK

Kebutuhan energi semakin meningkat seiring dengan perkembangaa industri pertumbuhan ekonomi dan pertambahan penduduk. Sedangkan sumber energi tak terbarukan seperti minyak bumi yang biasa digunakan semakin menipis persediaannya sehingga energi terbarukan seperti energi matahari secara bertahap harus dapat memenuhi kebutuhan energi dimasa yang akan datang. Efisiensi alat konversi tenaga matahari saat ini biasanya masih rendah untuk itu diperlukan upaya cara peningkatannya. Pada umumnya panas kondensari dari uap air yang menempel di kaca penutup pada proses distilasi tenaga matahari dibuang ke udara sekeliling sebagai rugi-rugi panas. Namun kerugian energi panas ini dapat dimanfaatkan dengan cara mengalirkan air melalui permukaan atas kaca penutup. Pemakaian lapisan air ini bertujuan untuk dapat memperbesar perbedaan temperatur uap air di dalam distilasi dan kaca penutup sehingga proses kondensasi akan lebih lancar mengurangi panas yang hilang dari kaca penutup ke udara sekitarnya dan menaikkan temperatur feed water dan akhirnya dapat meningkatkan efisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa performansi dari system alat distilasi tersebut. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan distilasi dengan menggunakan lapisan tipis air meningkatkan efisiensi per hari antara 195 sampai 398 dibandingkan tanpa menggunakan lapisan tipis air dengan efisiensi sistem perhari antara 2522 sampai 2724 Kata kunci Energi matahari proses distilasi air lapisan air efisiensi kolektor.


ABSTRACT

Demand for energy consumption rise with increasing industrial growth and the other hand fossil fuel as energy resources is now depleted so the renewable energy resources like solar energy must be able to supply the energy consumption. In generally speaking efficiency of solar energy devices is very low. The problems are how to increase this efficiency. The aim of this research on solar water distillation is to increase its efficiency. Energy losses from the glass cover can be utilized to heat feed water by flowing it on the out side surface of the glass cover. Feed water can absorb the energy losses to increase its temperature. Finally this process can increase the efficiency of solar distillation. The result show that efficiency distillation with water film higher between 19 and 398 than without water film and daily efficiency between 2522 and 2724 .
