ABSTRAK

Gasifikasi biomassa merupakan teknologi proses thenno-kimia yang mengubah berbagai jenis biomassa padat menjadi syn-gas CO. H2. CH4 dengan pemberian sejumlah energi panas. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan karakterisasi biomassa sekam padi sebagai bahan baku proses gasifikasi karakterisasi proses gasifikasi biomassa menggunakan reaktor downdraft dengan dua tingkat laJuan udara dengan variasi rasio udara-bahan bakar dan suhu udara yang masuk melalui tingkat laluan kedua serta karakterisasi unjuk ketja mesin dengan sistem dual fuel syn-gas dan fossil diesel. Karakterisasi biomassa meliputi proximate dan ultimate analysis serta nilai kalor bawah karakterisasi proses gasifi.kasi meliputi identifikasi zone tahapan proses gasifikasi identifikasi losses serta perhitungan efisiensi thennaJ proses konvei biomassa menjadi syn-gas serta karakterisasi unjuk kelja mesin sistem dual fuel meliputi perhitungan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik persentase syn-gas menggantikan fossil diesel pada mekanisme dual fueJ serta besamya temperatur exhaust gas. Penelitian dimulai dari karakterisasi biomassa sekam padi secara proximate dan ultimate analysis dan dilanjutkan dengan karakterisasi proses gasifikasi menggtma.kan rea.ktor gasifier type downdraft. Rea.ktor gasifier type downdraft dipilih dcogan ma.ksud uotuk mereduksi kandungan tar pad a syn-gas basil gasifikasi. Upaya mereduksi kandungan tar juga dilakukan dengan pemakaian katalis arang kayu yang diletakkan dibawah zoue reduksi. ldentifikasi zone tahapan proses gasifikasi dilaJ...Ukan dengan pemasangan 5 titik pengu.kuran suhu sepanjang reaktor gasifikasi untuk mendapatkan zone drying pyrolisis oksidasi parsial serta reduksi. Pengaturan rasio gasifying agent dan biomassa sekam padi dilakukan de.ngan memvariasikan posisi dimmer blower yaitu posisi 1 3. 4 5 dan 6. Hal ini dimaksudkan untuk meogatur putara.n blower sehiogga massa flow gasifying agent juga berubah. Karakterisasi biomassa sekam padi menghasilkan proximate analysis berupa moisture 9.2 volatile matter 65.3 ash 17.o dan fixed carbon 17.4 ultimate analysis berupa C 37.6 H 5.0 0 36.5 N 0.3 danS 0.0 serta nilai kalor bawah J 4.1 MJkg. Penguraogan rasio gasifying agent dan biomassa sela.ma proses gasifikasi menunjukkan kecenderuogan warna api semakin biru dengan tinggi yang beragam tcmpcratur api turun dari 565.6c sd 550.8c laju alir massa syn-gas turun dari 9.36 kgjam sd 7.95 kgjam selisib aotara massa yang masuk dan keluar turuo dari 1.83 kg sd 1.29 kg dan kualitas syn-gas pada posisi dimmer ladalah H2 - 13.17 0 2 8.38 N2 56.01 Ch 7.84 CO 12.38 C 1.55 dan C2I4 - 0.18 serta NKB 2893.39 k.Jikg. Karakterisasi unjuk kerja mesin dengan sistem dual fuel menunjukkan kenaikan konsumsi bahan bakar spesifik dan temperature exhaust gas masing - masing sampai 6 dan 10 serta sistem dual fuel mampu menggantikan 60 fossil diesel dcngan syo-gas basil gasifikasi biomassa.


ABSTRACT

solid type biomassa become syn-gas CO H2 with supplay an amount ofthennal energy. This research target is to get rice husk biomass characterization as the feeding of gasification process biomass gasification characterization using reactor downdraft twostream air with variation of ratio gasifying agent with rice husk biomass and performance characterization of engine with dual fuel system syn-gas and fossil diesel. Biomass characterization include proximate and ultimate analysis and calcuJated lower heating value biomass gasification characterization cover to identify step zone gasification process identify losses and also calculation of efficiency of thermal of conversion process of biomassa become syn-gas and performance characterization of dual fuel system cover to calculation specific fuel consumption percentage syn-gas replace fossil diesel at mechanism of dual fuel and also the level of temperature of exhaust gas. Research started from rice husk biomass characterization in proximate and uJtimate analysis and continued with biomass gasification characterization use reactor of gasifier type downdraft. Reaktor gasifier type downdraft selected since its ability for reducing tar composition in syn-gas. Identify step zone of gasification process conducted with installation 5 point of temperature measurement as long as gasifier reactor to get zone drying pyrolisis oxidition partial and also reduce. Arrangement of ratio of gasifying agent and rice husk biomassa conducted with adjusted of position of dimmer blower that is position 1 3 4 5 and 6. This matter intended to arrange rotation blower so that mass of flow gasifying agent also change. Rice husk biomass characterization yield proximate analysis in the form of moisture 9 2oa volatile matter 65 .3oa ash 17.5 and fixed carbon. 17 .4 ultimate analysis in rhe form cfC 37.6 H 5.0 0 36.5o4 N 0.3 and S 0.0 and clso lower heating value 14.1 MJK.G. Decreasing of ratio of gasifying agent and iiomass during gasification process showed tendency of blue fire colour rogressively immeasurable highly fire temperature decreased from 565.6C until550.8 C rate of flow of mass syngas decreased from 9.36 kgh until 7. 95 kglh difference of incoming mass and go out to decreased from 1.83 kg until 1.29 kg and quality syn-gas on course dimmer 1 H2 13.17 0 2 8.38 N2 56.01 Cz 7.84 CO 12.38 C 1.55 and C2 0.18 and also LHV 2893.39 kJkg. performance characterization of dual fuel system showed increase specific fuel consumption and temperature exhaust of gas until 6 and 1 Ooa respectively and aJso system of dual fuel able to replace 60 fussil diesel with syn-gas of result of biomass gasification.
