Description:

Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik viskositas oli mesin kendaraan bermotor dengan menggunakan laser Helium Neon sebagai sumber cahayanya. Peralatan dan bahan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah laser Helium Neon, tabung reaksi, detector, termometer, pemanas dan oli. Oli yang digunakan adalah oli SAE 20, oli SAE 30 dan oli SAE 40. Kemudian peralatan dan bahan diatur. Didapatkan nilai intensitas awal tanpa adanya oli, dan intensitas akhir ketika diberi oli bersamaan dengan perubahan suhu. Hubungan antara intensitas laser dan suhu adalah linier, semakin tinggi suhu maka makin tinggi pula nilai intensitasnya. Secara berturut-turut intensitas paling besar adalah oli SAE 20, oli SAE 30 dan oli SAE 40. . Dalam bentuk variabel terukur viskositas dapat dilihat dengan menggunakan laser He-Ne.

Research with the aim to understand the characteristic of motor vehicle machine oil viscosity by using Helium Neon laser had been done. The equiptment and materials that used in this research are Helium Neon laser, test tubes,detector, thermometer, heater and oil. There are three kind of oil with different characteristics that used, they are SAE oil 20, SAE oil 30 and SAE oil 40. Then, the equiptment and materials were well arranged. Obtained from experiment the value of pure intensity (without oil) and final intensity when oil were given with different temperature. The relation between laser intensity and temperature is linear, the higher the temperature, the intensity also becomes higher. In sequence, from the highest intensity are SAE oil 20, SAE oil 30 and SAE oil 40. Viscosity can bee measured using laser Helium Neon in fisis.
